Pros
Bonus and Comissions were great if targets are made.
Cons
Too much emphasis on hitting targets. Base salary is low, so Bonus and comision are big carrots.
Advice to Senior Management
None. For right person this is ideal job. But keep an eye on ethics and fairness.
Pros
Decent coworkers, not too busy, reasonable compensation for solid sales when the company wasn't going under, comprehensive on-the-job training, plenty of breaks.
Cons
The folks up at corporate kept misdiagnosing the company's problems, leading to terrible policies and even worse programs (remember the oh-so-groundbreaking one price promise?). I had five supervisors breathing down my neck, and a regional manager who didn't really care for us folks on the bottom of the totem pole. It was difficult to keep a store with such shoddy display shelves clean, and the archaic point-of-sale system confused both the employees and customers.
Advice to Senior Management
I can't really put anything here, being that the company has been under in the US since 2009. But I can say something about electronics stores in general: there needs to be a reason for someone to walk into a store nowadays. With online retail, there isn't really much of a need to drive into a store to get what you need, if you're patient enough to wait for a package to ship. The reason that a lot of brick-and-moarter stores are failing is that they simply cannot adapt to the online boom. The old ways of working don't really apply anymore. An electronics store needs to be an experience. They need to provide a service (And I'm not talking about Geek Squad or Firedog) on top of the products that they sell.
Pros
The pay is fairly decent. I've known full time home/video specialist to make anywhere between 18-22 dollars an hour.
Cons
Job definitely gets boring at times.
Pros
They had good career growth opportunities.
Cons
Senior management disconnected from the realities in the field.
Pros

Cons
Low pay, poor management not worth the time employed there.
Advice to Senior Management
