Pros
Average salary with consistant raises. Managers were nice but it just depends on the location. Lots of foot traffic and lively.
Cons
Outdated products or products that was not in stock. Seemed to be not managed very well. Hours were not consistant.
Advice to Senior Management
Better integration with the website and the store. More training in regards to sales tactics. Better lighting in the stores.
Pros
Circuit city was decent to work at. It's a shame it was closed down because I enjoyed working there. Management was friendly, however lacking.
Cons
No real drive or ambition.
Advice to Senior Management
Create challenges for employees.
Pros
Great company, always gave proper tools to help advance. Strive to help employee's better themselves inside and outside of the workplace. Always showed appreciation for the employees and made it well known when someone was going above and beyond thier jobs.
Cons
The greatest job I ever had... no longer exists.;(
Advice to Senior Management
Shouldn't have hired a CEO from Best Buy.
Pros
The managers rewarded you based on your sales and work ethic. Although it was not commission if you sold more you were compensated better.
Cons
The company was not able to stay in business. They business model slacked behind the competitors and it was not able to survive.
Advice to Senior Management
Innovation is key to the success of companies in all industries. The services of Circuit City lacked to those of its competitors.
Pros
Decent pay, good management, good hours, they are very open to suggestions about how to improve the work environment at the store.
Cons
When they think that you don't know what you're talking about when you make some of those suggestions it can be very frustrating.
Advice to Senior Management
Remember that you are the leader but you don't know everything. Admitting that will help a lot with the running of the store.

Advice to Senior Management
k
Pros
great environment, empowered associates, led a structured basis for store standards, provided each individual with the ability to grow and become part of a team
Cons
closed down, took too many price cuts, layed off too many people at one time and took away too many job titles
Advice to Senior Management
next time decide better on what stores to close and what stores to leave open. so that it doesnt cause your revenue to suffer
Pros
friendly atmoshere, good training program
Cons
terribile structure, and now out of business
Advice to Senior Management
listen more
Pros
There are great people to work with and they are very flexible about days off, especially if pursuing school at the same time.
Cons
Management doesnt seem to care about certain departments as much...its all about the entertainment department for most of them
Advice to Senior Management
Don't forget that there are other departments as well, who works just as hard, if not harder than the appraised department of entertainment
Pros
Co-workers were committed to taking care of customers
Comp and Benefits were good for a retailer
Products were fun to work with
Cons
Shoot from the hip mentality
Directional changes were constant
Culture feel apart after the Best Buy group arrived
No real strategy to compete
Advice to Senior Management
Should have stuck to the original course and let associates take care of customers. Switch to an all hourly environment and the elimination of truly competent sales personnel hurt the company.
