Pros
They help keep you updated on latest merchandise and you learn a lot from customers about new products. You also get to learn proffesionalism. They also let you advance in the company smoothly. It is not impossible to advance in the company. You get to help customers find exactly what they were looking for and sometimes get them really happy.
Cons
The management wasn't very competent. They would tell us to sell "city advantage" which is an insurance that almost every product in the store has, though we had to insist since our job was on the line. We had to sell a certain percentage of city advantage, I don't remember if it was a day, or week? Though, customers didn't like to be hassled so much about it.
Advice to Senior Management
Help new employees get settled in the work environment.
Pros
Only if its convienent for you and you are not serious about staying any where for a while. Maybe if you get to a store that is more organized then mine is. I have only worked at one of the stores but i have gone to Vegas with the company and i must say that the majority of the poeple that i met did not impress me too much.
Cons
the people the atmosphere the pay. The majority of the time i spent at Circuit City was trying to find another job, or telling people that i do not know how to speak spanish.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more organized with your "one face management". The assistant managers should not make fun of the store director behind their back. It makes for a bad environment.

1) Job based training - POOR QUALITY.
2) Time to use POOR QUALITY training material - little to none.
3) A new Point-of-Sale system(s) that are a HUGE step back - more harm than good!
4) Corporate Regional/District Managers - USELESS.
5) Old, outdated, and due to a failed corporate update program, ruined store format.
6) Poor store locations with long term leases.
7) A complete loss of all employee morale and hope for any improvement.
8) Good asset liquidity and credit lines to prevent going under!
