I worked at Circuit City full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent compensation package and fun work environment. Tons of toys to play with and fun customers to intact with on a daily basis.

    Cons

Employer no longer exists. Not much opportunity, to grow with the organization. If only Circuit City still existed and did not get destroyed by best buy.

    Advice to Management

Don't buy inventory that's no longer wanted by your customers.

I worked at Circuit City part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people around. They were all very nice. I liked working here. They had a nice break room. The parking lot was big. I liked it. Great big building too.

    Cons

They had bad pay, not competitive at all. I was in sales but they didn't give us any commissions. Managers would stress selling more and more, adding stress, without providing any incentives to do so. Pretentious people in lower management positions acting like they were god sent.

    Advice to Management

Stay in business? Don't be horrible at your job? Stay competitive?

I worked at Circuit City full-time

    Pros

On the brighter side, Circuit provided a generally "hands-off" approach to employee management. Very little clock watching, except where deadlines were concerned...and understandably so. Generally good people. Generally good pay.

    Cons

Many of the company quirks were as novel as the founder's last name. Managers memorized rote definitions of processes and work breakdown structures, but could not adequately explain the "why" underlying key and critical concepts. Projects predating your arrival were handed to you with flaws and all and pegged to your "performance account" if you did not make it work.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management needed to listen more beyond the layer of middle managers. Middle management did nothing more than to adjust what is already provided. No explanations for unique processes and KPIs, and KPMs.

    Pros

goods never had an A++ A typical work day is 8 - 5 and you sell online advertisements. Days consist of meeting, calls, training, and office activities. Learned how to sell, cold call, negotiate, communicate B2B. Hardest part of job is resisting the free food. Most enjoyable is being on the phones and talking to different people. Management: A+ Co-Workers: A++
