Pros
1. Great Technology
2. Flexible Work policies - esp. work from home
3. Freedom on the job....no one breathes down your neck
4. Great brand
Cons
1. Salaries in complete mismatch
2. Too slow to react
3. Those who work less and "market" themselves more get better pays and promotions
Advice to Senior Management
Please take a deep look into salaries being paid. They are grossly out of sync with the industry
Sr. Managers should encourage internal movements
Pros
Good work life balance. Good work environment. Decent pay. has a good transport facility in bangalore. has some nice people working.
Cons
really really bad career growth. it totally depends on the team you are put into. manager try to prevent moving to a better team for their own selfish motives using unethical means. Really sorry state of affairs when it comes to career growth.
Advice to Senior Management
Retain talented people by providing them better opportunies. Promote inside talent instead of always hiring from the outside. Revamp internal movement system.
Pros
Work culture. The best around. Complete freedom in how you work.
Managers respect your personal commitments.
Lot of flexibility int terms of office hours.
Work From Home option.
Cons
No professional development. Did same work feature after feature.
Learning curve goes down drastically after the first few months.
Advice to Senior Management
Should look at the professional development of the employees.
Decision making has become bureaucratic .
Realize the threat from competitors and improve.
Pros
work culture, work quality and passion
Cons
top management, drive from top
Advice to Senior Management
Need to improve n every other aspect.
Pros
A Technology leader. CoreLogic is not adverse to spend and try new technologies to improve their product. Employee, depending on job role, has a great potential to learn many new technologies and be current in their field.
Rewards as a recognition for job performance exists, though in small quantity and small by industry standards.
Job security is there for any employee if they are a high performer -- or as it seems as a reward for a employee who has been there long term, close to retirement and in good standing with management.
In most cases a very frugal organization. In most cases spends money wisely and does not spend money needlessly to the chagrin of many vendors.
Cons
Top heavy!
Still a somewhat patriarchal organization. Many organizational levels to justify position and accompanying salaries. Definitely not a flat organizational structure.
Some ineffective, non-performing managers and lower level workers are kept on for no apparent reason due patriarchal nature of the organization. If you are good *Kissing-Ass* and have the gift of the gab to your manager , then you will fit in well in the organization.
Starting salaries are low and pay raises are few and far between. So my advise to prospective candidates is to negotiate the highest pay rate you would be happy with for 2-3 years.
No paid overtime.
Staff attrition rate is high. Many have left for better paying work and paid overtime
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Great Workplace
good transport
Nice Campus
Lot of development work going on in India.
Cons
Negative mindset
Promotions are near impossible, if at all.
Workplace politics
Management shows Chauvinism towards their minion.
Advice to Senior Management
be transparent in performance reviews and evaluate people on their work rather than how close they are to management.
Pros
flexible timings
good people
good work
challenging environment
latest technology to work on
good infrastructure
Cons
big company, less work and sometimes processes take a long time
Advice to Senior Management
will be good if some of the processes are toned down
Pros
The Cisco culture is unique. Cisco is also highly cash rich so can fend off economic turbulence.
Cons
Big company - no growth at engineer level and well as management level.
Advice to Senior Management
The company management should take care of the people who have been on Cisco for long time.
Pros
Good technical learning on your own
Some smart people
Good technology
Good work env
Good culture
Okay compensation
Lots of material to learn from
Cons
Very less salary
Pyramid structure
Benefits etc are decreasing day by day
Lot of cost cutting
People are okay
No challenges
No personal carreer goal
Manager is more concerned about the product rather than the employee
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the people who actually work rather than just the top of the pyramid
Middle and senior management are there for a very long time
Pros
No work pressure
One can relax more, do small work and show it off as something big
Maintain friendship with managers and get what you want
Cons
Lot of politics in Organisation
Limited encouragement for technical people
More politics than encouragement for the good work done.
Advice to Senior Management
Start encouraging technical people, Drastic changes in the leadership are required to prevent the fall of Cisco or else it will have to just depend on acquisitions.
