Flexible working conditions with good career opportunities.

Client Services Manager, GSP (Current Employee)
    Stockholm, Stockholm (Sweden)

ProsFlexible hours, good career opportunities for anyone that has the drive and willingness to excel. If you manage your accounts in cooperation with the AM you have all possibilities to make some fantastic deals and money :)

ConsYou need to be self driven and have a good network to be able to get good results. Workload varies from Q to Q, you need to be able to savor the slow periods so that you can cope with the crazy ones, 50-60 hours per week is an average.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvancement to Senior Client Services Manager should be a possibility.

Long time employee, in the end, disappointing

    Program Manager (Former Employee)
    San Jose, CA

ProsHealth benefits, on site daycare and healthcare.

ConsPoor Leadership, continuous cost cutting and culture erosion over time. Projects kick off but are rarely completed. Tons of outsourcing and laying off of people to rehire the same job in low cost areas. Way too much Power Point and too little leadership. People are promoted for managing up vs. enabling their teams and doing the right thing for Cisco and the customer. It is incredibly political and you don't know when or if you will be laid off if your not in with the right people. I finally quit after working there for over a decade.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop promoting people that put together power point presentations and talk, talk, talk. Promote innovators, true leaders that have integrity and will lead and mentor their teams. This poor management style has spread like a weed throughout the company, and it's just sad.

    Management Intern (Current Employee)
    San Jose, CA

    ProsFlexible working hours.
    Gym close by.
    Flexible working space.
    Collaborative environment.
    Friendly managers & co-workers.

ConsMay be a bit difficult to move up. however that depends on your contribution mainly.
Not as great pay as the top companies. But that is understandable.

Advice to Senior ManagementDefinitely get rid of a lot of employees who do not do much work.
Cisco is too big, some employees do not really do any work and get paid.
To save Cisco lots of labor cost, eliminate unnecessary labor is necessary.
