I have been working at Cisco Systems India as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Very nice employee policies, facilities are at the top of the world. Food, canteens. Work culture, work from anywhere policy is the best in world.

    Cons

If your a smart/hard worker, its easy to get laid off. You are just a number and who should involve in team politics. Team lead should be your role model & manager should be always right;else you are useless for the team. Change in processes near impossible, even if it makes total sense, typical of large corporations.

    Advice to Management

Employee should be free to contact any peer manager and there should be a review meeting with two senior managers of his/her manager, before a employee leaves the project or company.

    Pros

Work from Home. Freedom of life except when you are given work to do. Ideas accepted.

    Cons

Work from home comes with a price of working late nights due to teams split out at various places. Pay is not good. Freedom brings in laziness. Promotions depend upon BU you work in.

    Advice to Management

Pleaasseee believe that guys with less experience can also do great jobs. Look at your employees what they are doing.
