Cisco has a great work culture apart from the cutting edge technology and solid experts.

    Manager (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsGreat people, good technology to learn, length and breadth of options in telecom domain, work-culture

ConsNot a negative side, but it's something which some of you may feel it is. One has to take ownership of his/her own career. Doing things which are assigned simply will not let the career graph grow. One need to take extra initiatives to prove time and again.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

ProsGreat brand value, nice city to work at, good work culture, work is challenging and interesting, ample scope for internal movement, decent pay.

ConsWork-life balance largely dependent on the BU, and team in particular. Work will get monotonic with time and one has to pace the career path smartly.

Software Engineer II (Former Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsWork-life balance and freedom to employees. You can work the way you like as long as you meet deadlines (which are not so tight anyway). Very good opportunities to get trained in CCNA, CCNP and CCIE

ConsEmployees need to proactively manage their personal growth - otherwise there is a possibility of getting stuck in the same role for many years

    ProsWork from home is possible.
Work quality/opportunities is varying. It has been very good for me.
No. 1 company for networking. Has many teams where you can switch your role easily
Bangalore Campus has excellent facilities like gym, outdoor/indoor sports.

ConsNot ideal for freshers as good opportunities are not given in the beginning.

Cisco is a good place to work, India operation can definitely be run better.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsWork culture in Cisco as a global company is good. Work and work life balance is decent.

ConsRecognition and compensation are not based on merit. Culture in Cisco India has changed very much due to rapid expansion. Local management is not effective and hence teams are not productive enough to justify the costs to company. Talent and people are not valued.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more engaged with India team. Direct interaction with employees will help.
