I worked at Cisco Systems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits. Ability to work from home. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Minimal innovation. Buys innovative companies then has layoffs to please investors. Limited career growth. Subjective and somewhat unfair bonuses

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Huge number of email lists and meetings. Offshore workers create more work in outside hours, better to make use of intern programs.

I worked at Cisco Systems full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Employees are empowered to do make decisions best for the company. Great place to learn various skills. Have freedom to move around to work different products and functions.

    Cons

Given the size of the company growth is limited. No start-up culture anymore. Has turned into true big company. No talent recognition. Mediocre people are rising up the ladder and good talent are leaving for other smaller companies and startups.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote the right talent and not the pushers or mediocre talent. Half of the long timers are just staying for their paychecks and not put their best.
