    Positive 3 years at Citigroup

    Broadcast Engineer (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsEven though it was a large corporation, my group ran independently and functioned like a small company

ConsIt could be difficult to get expenditure on new equipment and projects approved

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to give autonomy to groups within the company; the best way to people engaged and working at maximum potential is to delegate downwards whenever possible

    The Citi way....

Assistant Vice President, Quality Assurance Manager (Current Employee)

ProsGood Benefits and the company does hire good people to do the jobs.
I love the people I work with.

ConsThey truly believe in human capital - not people that make contributions.
While they have hired good people they do not utilize them to their full potential.
The good ole boy system is firmly in place.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember that business is all about people, not numbers.

    The Citi Way

    Operations Associate (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsIf you like working in a very structured environment in the finance field, then Citi is for you. Until the outsourcing of my position, I worked for this company for more than half a century. They have positions in everything from money management, administrative, compliance, charity and community work. They provide flex time and telecommuting in certain departments which works well for those that qualify.

ConsAs with many companies this large, you can get lost in the shuffle if you don't fight for what you've earned. Depending on the department, there may be a lot of office politics and you are stuck with who you know and not what you know or give value to. Flex time or telecommuting is offered in the company but mainly for higher up positions instead of all levels.

Advice to Senior ManagementIn all fairness, management should give all levels the opportunity to enjoy some of the perts given to higher levels. There should be a scale that provides the same flex time, telecommuting and advancement where there is more fairness among all.

    Good place to work

    Loss Mitigation Specialist (Current Employee)
    O'Fallon, MO

ProsCiti really cares about its employees. Citi offers health and wellness programs (we also have fantastic benefits). Loss mitigation and most mortgage positions offer bonuses starting at about 1000.00/ month and they do get higher depending on your work.

ConsSome positions are very stressful, lots of layoffs (at least 30 per year). Very strict in regards to standards, you MUST meet them.
