    Not enough room for growth.

    Pros

work from home, the technology was ok. Upward mobility, career mobility. The pay is typically really great, and the people were mostly awesome.

    Cons

Not to big of a fan of big banks. They are all about turning a profit, not so much product centric. They move extremely slow, but the people that work there are used to it. Also the dress code can get old.

    Pros

The best thing with Citi is that my management team was like a family to me

    Cons

My challengee was my staff, because upper management did not hold them accountable for thier repeated mistakes

    Advice to Management

Everyone has a job to do and that job is what we get paid to do, Everyone should be held accountable for doing their job, it makes it easier on the staff that works harder,

    Pros

Pay is good, benefits are great.

    Cons

it's a HUGE organization and you get lost. I spent 6 years trying to find a challenge and never found one. I got multiple promotions in my time there and each time I thought I would finally be challenged. I ended up leaving to find something that stimulated my brain.

    Advice to Management

When someone consistently says they need more work, find a way to give it to them. Cultivate top performers, don't ignore them.

    Pros

    Will get a fancy title
    Good 401 K match
Ok benefits to maintain their fortune 500 status

    Cons

No training at all and you are always at least 3 years behind in the industry. This place has become sliding doors with lot of people leaving the place and management not filling the positions based on cost savings.Oh the positions are out there all the time showing that this place is always hiring. You will know that you are doing the work of five people once you get hired. No bonuses or raises in the past five years.Performance is not valued.Global Talent management is a farce and black and white icon.Wolves all over the place and nepotism to the roost. No value for hard work when it comes to getting rid of people

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to open their eyes to what is happing at the middle level IT infrastructure management.THe middle management is overzealous in acquiring and overloading the technical workers.LAyoffs have become very common every quarter even though there is no need.

    Pros

checks don't bounce, there are some in mgmt that are truly good people.........most in mid to upper are in career protection mode.

    Cons

Way way way too much short term horizon. With so many operations for sale, little investment in infrastructure is occurring. Even today Citi is only valued at 8 cents vs $1 of value prior to 2008 crash.

    Advice to Management

Pack your bags, your dead weight.

    Pros

Variety of work. Company supports the community. Flexible work arrangements-easy to work at home. Lots of training.

    Cons

I worked there for 10 years. Very bureaucratic and difficult to get things done. Constant reorgs, layoffs, shifting priorities and difficult to get resources. It was a job but thats about all I can say. The longer I worked there, the more numb I got to it. Kind of like a lobster in a pot. The water gets warmer, but you don't realize suddenly it is boiling and you are dying. Many years with no increases. Policy is to never give more than 10% increase even when you get a promotion. Better to leave and then come back, than to take a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Treat people better. Use the surveys to identify areas and managers that need to be fixed.

    Pros

Benefits are the best thing about them, they seem to care about their employees health.

    Cons

No pay, do not take a collection job, they don't make any flexibility when it comes to pay.

    Advice to Management

Try to encourage human resources to pay for past performance.
