    Pros

Very flexible program, you can choose to work on different desks across trading/quant/reasearch, and definitely above street average pay

    Cons

Experience varies a lot depending on the rotation

    Pros

Great experience to the banking industry and finance in general. In certain groups, financial modeling is key and your technical skill set and analytical abilities will flourish

    Cons

As a financial analyst, we are so technically oriented there is no real room for input. Very process oriented. While it helps your technical abilities, you really are just one more dispensable worker.

    Advice to Management

Utilize fresh talent for process re-engineering

    Pros

Smart people and colleagues helped me learn a lot about the business. Citi has a lot of smart people who are knowledgeable about markets and how to properly run the business. There was a lot of diversity as well.

    Cons

Poor management did not focus on building culture. Although the people I worked with were solid, there were not enough ties between groups. Instead of being in it together, it was more about each specific team.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on culture when combining units. While I was there my unit was combined with another from a separate area and there was never an attempt to bring together the separate cultures.

    Pros

Fairly good opportunities to evolve, large organization with a lot of opportunities to work abroad. This is a huge company that you can learn a lot in different parts of banking

    Cons

Sometimes you may get lost in the crowds. It is not easy to get to director and above as you need to stand out of the crowds and s also develop the necessary network.

    Pros

Exposure to some of the largest transactions around the world with all the household company names you are used to hearing. Large company with plenty of professional options.

    Cons

Large environment that creates an unnecessary amount of bureaucracy. Not the best paid employees and sometimes not the best talent in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Take advantage of the large network and make sure you look out for your group and employees. The best bosses are the ones who make sure their employees get promoted and get plenty of exposure in the large web of Citi.

    Pros

Mobility, career growth, nice people, diverse client base, solid training.

    Cons

Constant change in strategy over the years, lack of integration & innovation, HR strategy failing - will pay new hires salaries 20-30% above existing long term high performing employees who haven't had raises in 5 years. Huge attrition in 2015 including HR staff. Pay high performing long team internals first! Businesses running around with their own strategies which are constantly changing.

    Advice to Management

True global offering for all clients, Pay internals, more visibility from Corbat - how about ongoing company calls to stress strategy and initiatives?, fire bottom 2-3% per year - too many underperforming long term employees working here making good money.

    Pros

Assess to different product lines, full of interesting problems to solve

    Cons

Inefficient, most of the time quite political as you can expect from a large company, frequent "cost saving" measures, legal and regulation stuff slows everything down and yet every time there will be someone going rogue to sink the ship - I think it's a culture thing, and the problem is there is no culture

    Pros

Good benefits, smart people, passionate about their work

    Cons

It's a bank. It's not always the people who deserve a promotion who get one. You usually have to be on your way out for them to try to get you to stay.

    Pros

Good culture, depending on group. They have a lot of career growth opportunities, and strongly encourage internal mobility.

    Cons

Things take a while to materialize, and salary isn't as great as competitors, by level.

    Advice to Management

If the pay isn't suffice, perhaps work/ life balance is a good area of development, to help retain employees.
