    Pros

Have had fun working here and always challenging, it's a good environment.

    Cons

    Pros

    - great place to start your career as resources available (market information, Mumbai outsourcing, research) are valuable
    - market leader in most areas
    - diverse people
    - good opportunities to network
    - good benefits (pension is generous at 7.5% of earnings + 50% match up to 4% of earnings)

    Cons

    - can be bureaucratic, process-driven
    - certain teams can be very narrowly-focused, out of touch with rest of firm
    - sometimes slow to react to market opportunities, i.e. creations of new teams can take a long time
    - reputation externally has suffered over last six years

I worked at Citi full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Work/life balance is amazing - hovers around 50 hour work weeks at most, and everyone is very understanding if you need time off. Really nice group of people to work with and everyone is really open to help and mentor new hires.

    Cons

The pace of work is slow at times, there doesn't seem to be a lot of drive to results as I've seen in other companies. A symptom of the emphasis on work/life balance is that people are not as motivated - you can see if in everything from the dress code of people wearing jeans and sneakers to the pretty low salaries they offer to new hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote a more active and collaborative culture - people often rest too much on their laurels and there are a lot of archaic processes and roadblocks that exist in the company that hampers one's ability to make an impact.

Well-known brand. Great global platform. Market-competitive benefits. Coworkers from diverse background. A true world-bank that you interact with people from different regional offices.

    Cons

Work-life balance might be a challenge, however, this is an issue for all the financial institutions. The firm as a whole is trying to change but there still are old-schooled people.
