    I worked at Citi

    Pros

I was very fortunate to have worked for Citi. For almost 8 years, I had learned and grown my career and improved financial service skills, and mortgage servicing experience.

    Cons

In a big company, all training modules are web-based and are quite overwhelming. Such training formats are challenges and you don't have a luxury of classroom settings where you can interact and ask questions with trainers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't think I'm qualified or have credential to offer such advice. However, I think Citi has more means and resources to better service the needs and wants of the customers. Equally, Citigroup is a great company with lots benefits to work for.

I worked at Citi as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Very down to earth people & culture, didn't have one bad encounter
The people I got to work with are very smart & they really try to teach you well
The pay as a summer intern is pretty good especially with overtime paying 1.5X
Got actual projects instead of the usual intern busy work
Great social events with the team.
    Had a great manager.

    Cons

The hours weren't bad usually, about 45 hrs/wk but that's because I was an intern but my manager & the junior analyst on my team pulled in heavy hours & even worked weekends at times.
Can be a very stressful time during quarter end.
The increased regulations have become really time demanding for FP&A.
High turnover in FP&A because it's so demanding.
Upper management does seem to be very bureaucratic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find ways to make monthly/quarterly projects more seamless especially considering that a vast majority of the time spent for FP&A is on monthly financial outlooks. I was really surprised to see that every single month the outlook would change dramatically when there's no real rationale behind a complete change.
To upper management: Try to bit a less demanding of your VPs & Directors. They worked really hard and upper management constantly asked for changes to a project or at times completely changed the project. Maybe try hiring more analysts to help out the team.
