    Pros

    great compensation and benefits
great work life balance (for my department at least, can't say the same about other departments)
meritocratic organization and a lot of smart people

    Cons

matrixed organization with each person working in siloed functions
sometimes hard to navigate such a large corporation
depending on what group you get put in, your work may or may not be interesting

    Pros

As contractor the pay is competitive with similar jobs in the financial industry around the City of New York. The hire quite a diverse population of people so there are is always something new to learn from these people and it helps support a number of outside ventures that the company does.

    Cons

The company doesn't tend to hold onto people for very long, including those who have been hired full time, this leads to a moral problem. I noticed the work-life balance of people who were full time employees and not contractors was completely out of balance. My coworkers were there sending emails well into the night even though they were not working with associates in other countries. Lastly as a contractor I had to get a new pass every 30 days making access to the building a bit of a nightmare. Lastly for employees in the New York Area, Citi is planning on getting rid of its midtown office and move quite a few people to Jersey City. Get ready for a harder commute and more complicated income taxes.

    Good place to work.

    Pros

    Better pay than many banks.

    Cons

Inefficient systems - full of "work-arounds" instead of fixing software - leading to errors, slow service, frustrated employees and customers, missed referral/sales opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Best in class computer systems lead to best in class business. Citi's are inferior and your customers know it. Also, the KDS survey scoring system/score card weighting is just a way to take money out of the branch's pockets. You are losing good employees over this.

    Pros

I enjoyed working with genuine people who I could trust and communicate with openly.

    Cons

No cell phones permitted on the floor and they froze raises for a few years.

    Pros

They are obviously frendly, they wouldnt have gotten to where they among the rankings if they werent.
The best part about working here is that they are doing their best to make sure that their interns do not feel underutilized.

    Cons

There really arent any for the interns that you find anywhere else, you have to learn a lot when you get here (software they use), but all and all its worth it.
You MUST dress business casual (slacks and a button down, no clue what the equivalent is for a girl)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because someone is slightly unprofessional in the tech department doesnt mean they arent a good fit. 99% of other companies arent formal at all. I think we should be allowed to dress down a little
