  5.

Summer Analyst - typical inefficient corporate environment. No thought to your work, only following a system.

I have been working at Citi as an intern

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. There is a big stress on work-life balance and they definitely keep up their end of the bargain here. Colleagues are all very nice and supportive.

    Cons

Typical corporate environment. Your work does not matter and you don't actually get to think about what you are doing and why. Your work is all about learning how other people do their work and then copying them - no thought involved. Although nice, people there are miserable (because what they do everyday is irrelevant) and want a way out. My favorite quote from the summer was: Guy 1: "Happy Friday!" Guy 2: "Is it? This just means we are even closer to Monday...and then we have to come back here..."

I worked at Citi as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Large company, growth potential. Competitive salaries, pays interns well

    Cons

Everyone seems miserable, slave to the job. Constantly working all hours of the night, kind of a hostile environment at times. Bosses are not afraid to yell or raise their voice to employees, which I feel is very unprofessional and unnecessary.
