    Pros

Global bank, adds some value to your resume. IT uses latest technology compared with most other IB.

    Cons

Extreme politics. You find lot of mediocre, sitting-around, working 'remotely' folks. You can be a top performer, but you will not benefit in your YE compensation.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at LM, especially in IT, specifically in Warren, NJ. Do proper exit interview when good performers leave - please don't sent a link to fill in a form, it simply shows you're not interested in retention or growth of your bank.

    Pros

Still lots of potential to regain its glory days. There are a few employees that remain that hold onto the Citi core values and care

    Cons

Citi has become a place where too many friends try to keep each employed. Cutting staff has become a way to survive. Some employees have questionable ethics to get the job done.

    Advice to Management

More ethics training and awareness should be conducted

    Pros

Some of the smartest people in the world work there..

    Cons

Citi mgmnt does not treat the employees as individuals nor with respect. It's just about getting the work out at any cost to get it off someone's check list.

    Advice to Management

The company talks a good game about fixing the low morale amongst the ranks, but does little to fix anything or humanize the work enviroment and respect the staff..

    Pros

Work was interesting and challenging. Banking applications present unique challenges in terms of both security and transaction volume, so the work was never boring. Colleagues were in general smart and capable. Was fortunate to work on a talented team with a great management hierarchy. Compensation and benefits were competitive.

    Cons

Unfortunately most of our work was moving to Texas, so I decided to seek other opportunities locally rather than relocate. Sometimes the hours were brutal.

    Pros

There are a lot of training opportunities

    Cons

Citi says it supports a work-life balance and lets employees work remotely. Then it uses the fact that work can be done successfully while remote to justify moving the job to cheaper locations. The matrix relationships between managers is crazy -- its pretty hard to figure out who works for who & what the real priorities are when you report to three different people at a time. It's just too big -- it shouldn't be as hard as it is to get things done, but the organization is so complex that even the little things take forever to accomplish. Its still very much an old boys network and doesn't take the time to really groom managers. Some of the behaviors they reward are really beyond belief.

    Pros

Some of the people I worked with are professional and friendly.

    Cons

The management does not reward people for their contributions. The annual performance review is a big farce and is usually unfair. The management also does not like criticism and treats you like crap when you leave.

    Advice to Management

Don't pretend your company is Google and treat people fairly.

    Pros

Fast pace environment. Good Pay. Company name has great value on resume. So it pays to work there for few years and move on.

    Cons

No work/life balance. Yearly lay-offs irrespective of how the company is doing. Management wants you to step over your peers, if needed, to move forward.

    Advice to Management

    Need to value employees more.

    Pros

flexible schedule, exposure to work in a global organization

    Cons

leadership is absent, lack of individual respect and no HR organization.

    Advice to Management

get real and compete instead of surviving on legacy advantages

    Pros

There are quite a few opportunities to be involved in new things - while the culture isn't necessary going to open doors for you, if you ask for new experience and to be involved in new things managers are generally receptive - of course there are always exceptions. Telecommuting is a perk.

    Cons

    Turnover. Staff layoffs. Meager salaries.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, weed out the brass that aren't genuinely contributing.
