Pros
Smart management in some areas.
Cons
When will the bad news end
Low stock price makes options useless as motivator
Advice to Senior Management
Hire better people for management that have some moral values and not be rewarded for brutality
Pros
Salary, global presence, office, people
Cons
Too much politics, lack of ownership.
Advice to Senior Management
Reduce management, ensure ownership and accountability.
Pros
Large bank, opportunities for internal career transition
Cons
Too large, political environment, compliance heavy
Pros
In my position there is potential for a lot of growth if you good at your job.
Cons
They are not immune from the politics you see in American corporate culture. Is any company really immune though?
Base pay could be a little more competitive. I took a huge pay cut to come here just to be closer to home. you would think they would have considered my MBA to be of some merit but I feel like I started from the bottom. My base pay is the same as a kid who just graduated from high school and I have been in the work force for more than 15 years. So all in all, education and experience count for nothing.
Advice to Senior Management
Take into consideration your talent pool and get your HR department up to speed on how to identify qualified people for positions. Education and experience should be considered and not ignored.
Pros
Excellent management that cares about doing the right thing for customers and employees. My experience with management was positive. I was in a position to coach and influence managers and staff and I found it to be easy in most cases because of the atmosphere that management maintained. Associated were rewarded not only with pay but with praise and recognition.
Cons
Frequent change is often difficult for employees and customers. Understanding that the industry has been changing and the reputation of banks in general has been poor, it is still not a great idea to make as many changes as occur at Citibank. Employees and customers are often anxious and frustrated by the changes that seem to happen on a regular basis.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep communicating with employees
Pros
name recognition
great experience
hard work is praised
Cons
hard to advance due to recent budget cuts
Pros
Diverse with many opportunities to excel
Cons
Red tape. Typical large corporation challenges.
Pros
you will learn lot of things
Cons
hour is the main problem. long hour. difficult to maintain when you are in school
Pros
Good balance between work and home
Good compensation, with raises between 3-5% per year
Cons
Opportunities for growth are minimal, and the technology is archaic, and outdated
Pros
Freedom to provide client service as needs arose in difficult situations. I was always supported on a customer level.
Total compensation was excellent.
Exceptional financial center location and environment.
Cons
Long hours as a financial center manager.
Large disconnect between what is expected in the role of a Financial Center Manager in managing
branch staff vs. what actually takes place.
Although always polite on the surface, there is constantly an underlying fear of making the slightest error.
There is no relief from the fear.
As a manager, one can feel extremely alone.
Advice to Senior Management
Please take a look at the incredible employees, especially your office managers. I am particularly
referring to those who are no longer with Citi. I would be happy to grab a flight to New York to tell my story. Or, at the very least, read this message. I lost my heart and my life when I left my job.
I am wearing my 25 years- of- service watch. When I left, my supervisor whispered on my ear "Sue
us. PLEASE sue us!'. I cannot sue you. I loved you all so much.
