Pros
Benefits, mobility, flexibility, training, compensation, variable compensation, sense of ownership, technology, access to resourceful and diversity within the company.
Cons
Too departmental that create delays, consistency, changed in senior management too frequent, the company priorities will shift and many layers.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote talent based on ability and not personality. Create more staff development at all levels. More consistent and precise disclosure.
Pros
Citi is a great place to be if you want to learn and grow. I have met some amazing people with clarity of thought and talent. The pay is par and the bonus is decent.
Cons
Politics, unnecessary processes and health plan.
Pros
You will be rewarded for good performance and chances for promotion are available.
Cons
Work hours could be long and sales pressure is what you need to handle everyday.
Advice to Senior Management
Think at the stand of front office staffs and need to get real touch of the markets. Make sensible change.
Pros
Positive Working Environment, Nice colleagues.
Cons
There are some People who are too old for the job. It's Not only hampering the growth for new employees but also the employees are not able to showcase their ideas.
Advice to Senior Management
Retire the old fellas and make Citi look young and bright with lods of new ideas and achievements, It the company wants to see any big growth in the future.
Pros
Great work parties and sponsorship dinners. Pay is higher than most banks but only becuase you have to research everything on your own on mediocre technology.
Cons
Micromanaging managers, the technology is horrible, banker help line is horrible they have no idea how to resolve customer issues. Help line is outsourced to another country. bonus package kept changing..
Advice to Senior Management
Change systems and to stick with a consistent way of compensating employees
Pros
Great reputation, great benefits, staff is always great to work with. Definitely have competitive pay and benefit packages, but overall leadership skills are lacking.
Cons
Leadership skills are lacking. Management always changing things, giving you the runaround. At least in the Los Angeles area, its very difficult to move up or grow within the company. Not only at my locations, but know of many cases where management preferred to hire from outside the company than within, despite there being many highly qualified people within the company.
Pros
stable job, good benefits, pays better than other financial institutions.
Cons
lack of communication with upper management, poor balance with work/life, needs better management.
Pros
One of the best reasons to work at Citibank are the benefits. Their compensation package is lacking but the medical, dental and vision is excellent and accepted almost everywhere. I would also say Citi looks good on your resume.
Cons
Citibank is still lacking in pay scale to their new and existing employees. They simply don't give enough raises, and often make cuts.
Advice to Senior Management
My advice for senior management would be make your employees feel appreciated. And look at some of the facilities in other operations around town. People/employees talk and it makes a difference.
Pros
Good opportunities to advance within the same business sector.
Cons
Very little ability to make a move into other than your original business sector.
Advice to Senior Management
Legacy computer systems are layered one upon the other until systems are far too complicated. Citibank can be a market leader in a specific niche - global banking. It should concentrate on that.
Pros
Benefits are good.
Excellent exposure and experience which forces you to make big decisions on the spot
Challenging atmosphere that builds character and level of thinking.
Always changing
Global connectivity: meeting and collaborating with people all over the world
Cons
Too structured
Lack of balance between personal and work life
Advice to Senior Management
Encourage and assist employees in achieveing healthy work and personal life balance as this will maximise their productivity
