I worked at Citibank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a lot of upward mobility. There is also the luxury of working in either New York or New Jersey. The managers are great & are very helpful.

    Cons

They push too hard with sales. It's like they just want accounts but creditable accounts. And the underwriting process for a loan is horrible. No one was approved for anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Citibank full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Citibank has the potential to be a great company to work for as a Banker. The base is competitive, the payout is decent enough.

    Cons

To begin, I did not pay and attend college, work hard for the past 15+ years as a banker and business owner to have my career at Citibank be based on how well I greet customers at the door and "have the Disney attitude". I find it quite demeaning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire greeters and let bankers be bankers. It is almost insulting since bankers are not considered entry-level.

Very good company to work for starting out. Pay at the teller level is better than most other retail banks.

I worked at Citibank part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Global company with lots of room to advance. Pay and benefits are about as good as you'll find at any retail bank. At my location most of the workers were very laid back.

    Cons

Management tends to play favorites. Managers were also switched around numerous times in my location, and I was there for only 6 months, leading me to question job security.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time working rather than discussing office drama.

I worked at Citibank full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The only good thing about working at Citibank is that other companies look at your resume in a positive way for having worked there.

    Cons

Micromanagement in the retail environment. Conference calls ever 2 hours in Washington DC market. Ridiculous sales goals and service expectations with horrible metrics. They measure the surveys with answers 1-10, where anything below 9 is automatically a 0. If you get a low score, they embarrass you in front of all the staff. Also, staffing issues. AKA, they don't care if you are understaffed, they still expect you to perform at a high level. When people call out, they don't give support in the branches. When someone quits, they don't act quickly to get someone else.

I have been working at Citibank

    Pros

    Decent pay and globally recognized,

    Cons

Too much concentration on customer service and not paying enough attention to employee's. Making employee's work basically 2 jobs with 1 pay. NO work life/balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come work at the branch level for a week and experience what we go through.

I have been working at Citibank part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Corporate jobs are fairly nice, benefits are excellent

    Cons

Treated like a dog in the retail branch. No room for growth, poor pay and watch out for travel expenses that company makes you pay out of pocket. Unfair policies and practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be fair to your employees, be honest. Making an employee pay out of pocket for parking and travel expenses as a low paid teller is ridiculous. Stop the constant transferring. A lot of company and labor violations that the hr department does nothing about.
