Pros
It is multinational company has many departments in IT and hence has lots of scope of development as faster tech leads to quicker financial transaction
Cons
I was working as an intern and hence was not able to learn as much as I would have wanted to
Advice to Senior Management
Internships should be made a little longer.. and allow one to work on live projects which will allow an intern to appreciate the gravity of his work
Pros
Pay, benefits, commission structure, cafeteria, days off.
Cons
The job can be very repetitive. You may also not like dealing with all the customer service issues. Sales can be tough, so you will have some bad days.
Advice to Senior Management
you need to make sure that you are always in a good mood and don't get down on yourself if you have a bad day in sales.
Pros
Reputation, Working hours flexibility, good co worker relationship, learning oppurtunity, security wise good to work from home option, good appreciation
Cons
internal politics, less salary, ok work place, ok management, no growth, no option to work from International places when on vacation
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize the work done by the employers, recognize the internal politics going on, can do more better, mainly has to create a good environment
Pros
Pretty good work/life balance, other than that not much to recommend.
Cons
You can work your a$$ off, get the best performance review that you have ever received and not get a pay raise or a bonus!!
THAT'S CRAP!!!!
Advice to Senior Management
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!
Pros
Work-Life Balance and great work environment
Cons
Takes time to move to next level
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work
Pros
Online training was great. I actually miss it still. You could learn about anything you wanted, and I took full advantage of that.
Good vacation and personal time off package for my position.
Ability to work from home.
The company has a good name so it wasn't too difficult to jump to a competent FI.
Global footprint theoretically allows you to move anywhere. I'm not sure how many people actually do this though.
Cons
-High school like atmosphere.
-Generally disinterested, absent and self promoting management
-Not a meritocracy, even though they say they are.
-GTS is a joke, no opportunity for growth. Too much focus on expenses has damaged staff morale severely.
-Poor cafeteria (Buffalo location)
-HR is nonexistent when you need them, actually always nonexistent except for email reminders about dress code constantly. Unwilling to help employees.
Advice to Senior Management
No one cares about VOE because nothing changes. Don't pay money hand over fist to consultants and ignore your employees for promotion and raises. Stop sending us emails about how great financially we are doing and then give sub par compensation.
Ditch the extraneous business and focus on your core competencies. Massive amounts of middle management that does nothing and should be eliminated.
Treat your analysts and reps with dignity and respect. Not the lip service that is given now.
This bank can only rely on economies of scale for long without change.
Don't say we didn't warn you.
Pros
flexibility, respect to co workers, work remote
Cons
no bonus, no promotions, not much appreciation
Advice to Senior Management
give appreciaton when a person does good job
Pros
Good paymaster in the financial market
lots of performance related bonus, retention bonus, conveyance, travel allowance
good work atmosphere/ location
Cons
Chuck out immdtly if you are a non performer
Remains the same for performers caught in between some personal problem
Pros
Flexible Work benefits, generous time off package, company daycare, global mobility options, and plenty of work from home positions in IT.
Cons
2011 will be the third year without significant raises or bonuses, even for high performing VPs. If you do decide to work for Citi you will hear a lot of talk about meritocracy, unfortunately it is just talk. Merit increases will not be given in 2011 once again, regardless of performance rating.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in the existing staff. Much effort and money is spent surveying the staff, writing plans to address survey results, and then recruiting new staff because foundational concerns like compensation and quality of benefits are not addressed. Instead, focus on compensating and retaining quality staff.
Pros
great benefits and fun coworkers
Cons
fairly incompetent senior management team. Promoting people who are good individual contributors, not good managers.
