Pros
fantastic people (mostly)
global - opportunities to work abroad
fast, paced dynamic environment
infrastructure, tech, and support are light years beyond competitors
Cons
stock price hasn't moved
fair degree of nepotism and bureaucratic behavior
mgmt afraid to think outside the box
ridiculous guidelines (timeframes, etc) on promotions - not enough value placed on performance and reach of individual
Advice to Senior Management
people are great - if you work here, you can work anywhere - however, retention sucks and they are going to experience a brain drain b/c top performers keep leaving - we get messages about consistently posting profits for 7 quarters but then see our colleagues laid off and told bonuses and raises are going to be terrible. talk about messaging.
Pros
Excellent Pay, Great benefits, Best paid employees by any bank!
Cons
Management has some great manager and so lousy managers. Overall though management does not micro-mange but encourages you to succeed
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on Developing employees. Manage by coaching not by task. Develop leaders, Focus on building up people and recognizing them.
Pros
- Good package
- Super talented colleagues
- Good system
Cons
- Too big for you to be someone
Advice to Senior Management
- Focus on core business of a ban
Pros
Job security is good and benefits are great. Employees are friendly and alternative work options are great.
Cons
Very low salary payers and the senior management is not at all competitive. Other banks offer better salaries as compared to it on same profiles.
Advice to Senior Management
Leaders should take more initiative in knowing employees and promotions must be made on basis of competitiveness and not on basis of people who spend time and title and let others wait behind to start from base and spend time and title even after having higher experience, qualification and knowledge.
Pros
Professional development
Broad range of opportunities and movement
Cons
Tremendous effort to reach consensus
Pros
Internal Mobility Opportunities, Informal work culture and very good work life balance.
Cons
Too many consultants many of whom are totally redundant.
Advice to Senior Management
None at this point.
Pros
Lots of bright people and opportunities within the company but you must seek them out yourself. You must manage your own career.
Cons
Focus always appears to on the short-term. it's always about making the numbers - month to month, quarter to quarter, and most importantly the annual budget or forecast.
Pros
the benefits provided are good
Cons
There is liitle room for jod growth
Pros
Global Reach
Opportunities to network within Citigroup
Kind and helpful people
Good resources
Mobility
Good Mentorship from Seniors
Good work-life balance compared to other banks
Cons
It is so large, it is easy to get lost. You have to be VERY proactive to make sure that you are getting noticed or get good assignments. It is quite complicated / disconnected when trying to navigate the large matrixed organization globally.
Advice to Senior Management
It would be helpful if we had a better 'global depiction' of our reach. Something to most clearly help us understand 'who is in what country - doing what job.'
Pros
* Great Pay
* Great Location
* Great Facility
Cons
* Manager was not very helpful
* Work was very boring
