Pros
Firm is making a push to be competitive (or comparable) to street in comp
Cons
Review process is not 360 and not taken seriously by most. For junior people, pay decisions are based on popularity rather than work load / result. Time is better spent making friends than doing work.
Pros
- Big firm
-It's a good name to have on resume
- Has good HR Policies
- Multi Cultural Environment
Cons
- Low Pay as compared to peers
- Limited Growth Opportunities
- Long Hours depending on the group you are in
Advice to Senior Management
Understand that the workers in the trenches are those that are getting work done, as against fat cats in corner offices
Pros
Great People and Culture at Citi.
Cons
Low pay and shallow advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more and value jr assets
Pros
Working with very smart people, which can be a rewarding experience
Despite suffering huge losses during the financial crisis, Citi has got its act together and is a firm with growth potentials
The area is beautiful
Cons
Long hours (typical) and lifestyle
Pros
Its getting better in posting +ve results but for employee satisfaction it has a long way to go.
Work life they have improved on a lot.
Cons
Too big, contribution goes unnoticed. Too much favoritism. its not what you do, its who you know.
Advice to Senior Management
Think about making people more accountable and reward the ones doing the good work for you. K
Pros
For the most part everyone is nice and friendly and there is no "busy work"
Cons
facetime is important
no room for growth
no emphasis placed on career development
Pros
good environment, opportunity to learn and grow
Cons
not the best performing bank out there
Advice to Senior Management
better transparency and open communication with employees. Willingness to engage more.
Pros
Exposure to many different types of transactions, asset classes and capital structures. Global reach allows the firm to a serious contender in several products and services.
Cons
a very big place to work, takes a very long time to get up and running at the firm and too figure out the systems, what's important and where things are. Technology is not good and slows you down significantly.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in technology; it will take some time for the investment to pay off, but you will need so many less people going forward. This should reduce operating costs in the long run
Pros
This is a great environment to work in. The worker are friendly and there is a lot of room for progression
Cons
A lot of hierarchy.Information sharing is very poor. I'm not too happy with management styles becaause it is more of authoritative.
Advice to Senior Management
I wish management will engage junior staff in their operation decisions. this is because they tend to see what is happening
Pros
- Typical bulge bracket environment
- Entrepeuneurial spirit
- Senior Management team merit respect
- Benefits package competitive
- The resources are out there.....
Cons
.... It is just very difficult to track them down..
- Bureaucracy: Citi is a massive, unwieldy beast- with red tape stretching as far as the eye can see..
- Lack of transparency on most things: business, HR processes, technology etc..
- Ahhhh- technology, it's rubbish. Lead out of the US, who appear to care very little about their EU counterparts
-New starter process is embarassingly difficult to navigate
Advice to Senior Management
-Invest in better technology (project managed by people who care about end user experience!)
-Improve information- availability and quality.
-Understand that not everything can be solved by outsourcing!
