Pros
Professional development
Broad range of opportunities and movement
Cons
Tremendous effort to reach consensus
Pros
the benefits provided are good
Cons
There is liitle room for jod growth
Pros
Citi is a huge company, so there are many opportunities to work in different fields across different functions. I also feel that outside of certain programs (for example, Finance Analyst Program) it is easy to move between functions. People here are smart and hardworking and salary is competitive. Generally the people I work with are friendly and I enjoy working with them.
Cons
In such a large company, you can often feel like a marching ant. I think performance reviews are too casual, leading to some inefficient, unqualified employees remaining employed under the radar despite frustration from coworkers.
Advice to Senior Management
Better performance reviews.
Pros
The employees at Citi are intelligent and hard working.
Cons
Managers at Citi are unable to think outside the box and take risks to propel the organization to be a leader in the consumer financial services space.
Advice to Senior Management
First, it is important to enable innovative individuals to have a voice. An innovative employee who works for a non visionary manager is bound to fail. Have your managers learn skills to tap into people's talent.
Please LISTEN to the consumer RESEARCH and don't be afraid to make the changes. It is best to lead the change than to have the government dictate what the bank needs to do.
Pros
large environment., user interaction, process in place, good work place, technology savy, focus group, learning potential with in the organization is good.
Cons
less recognition for the work, career advancement is very slow and too many upper management authorities to answer, un planned moves
Advice to Senior Management
employee recognition and the importance to employee loyalty and work ethics and removing of the uncertainity hanging around affects the productivity.
Pros
They gave me an opportunity based on faith and have provided me with full benefits and a more than fair salary.
Cons
Senior management is out of touch and incompetent.
Advice to Senior Management
Consider what is best for your team as opposed to just being a "Yes Man". You'll create a large pool of supporters as opposed to burning the candle at both ends. Sr Management will never be satisfied.
Pros
Good salary, lots of opportunities to advance, bonuses
Cons
Banking hours sucks, sometimes managment arent in sync, onboarding from consultant to fulltime took 6 months (really)
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to do as great as you are doing. You guys rock.
Pros
Good work experience and great work relationships
Cons
rewards are not merit based
Advice to Senior Management
Too many chiefs and cutbacks always hit the newer talent trying to work there way up.
Pros
Most of the people I work with are smart, selfless, and not political. There are opportunities to take on new roles, even in other departments. Management seems to be supportive of this.
Cons
It is a very disorganized place which is constantly changing. Executive love PowerPoint, and it makes it difficult to get real work done. Compensation and recognition are not very good.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to align the business and technology better. O&T make up about 1/2 the company, yet they are not treated with much respect. There is also way to much swirl at every level. Reorgs should be infrequent, as opposed to the norm. A firm strategy needs to be set and adhered to.
Pros
- Global workforce and opportunities
- All sorts of career opportunities, from real estate management to investment banking to consumer marketing
- My workplace was modern with up-to-date tools
Cons
- Management always shifting, no clear vision of the company as a whole
- Lacks innovation, difficult to execute new ideas
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to ideas of employees, establish a clear pipeline on how to solve problems and develop new products
