Pros
Good global organization, great international opportunities.
Cons
Organization is sometimes too large and cumbersome, management has a hard time managing all of the divisions and it lacks cohesion.
Advice to Senior Management
Streamline the organization and understand the best places to generate revenue.
Pros
1) Great Management Associate program
2) Global firm with high brand equity
Cons
1) Not paid market value
2) Not good at retaining talent
Advice to Senior Management
Look to keeping talent, why lose well qualified people to the market only to rehire them by paying more ?
Pros
Large company with a lot of opportunities for advancement, good benefits, recognizable name and good networking. Overall basic benefits of a global company.
Cons
It is a large company so it is hard to stand out and get appreciation for the work that you do.
Advice to Senior Management
It takes a lot of people to make the company run successfully, take the time to recognize everyone who contributes.
Pros
Work/life balance
close to home
not too stressful
a lot of room to run errands during lunch
learned a lot
good vacation time
summer hours
Cons
For 2 years straight, no raise or bonus
have to fight for promotion or any money
given promotions come with no money raise unless fought for
not good tuition reimbursement
managers generally lazy
applications that are pushed dont work well
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of hiring people from the outside for senior or supervisory positions, hire from within and give raises.
Pros
big firm, a lot of learning opportunities and stable
Cons
I think work efficiency is not as high as I expected before
Advice to Senior Management
A lot of meetings might not be really necessary.
Pros
well-know company, Stable job, market salary, nice people, good managment.
Better work-life balance than other investment bank on wall street.
Cons
Process slow, so hard to get required access, the cooperations between teams and group; Politics, Bureaucratic like other large company.
Pros
Global presence
Diversity
Amazing Business School
Very loyal employees, not always compensated for the hard work
Cons
Incompetent senior management
Company lost credibility
Highly dissatisfied employees
Advice to Senior Management
Start listening to your employees and your customers.
Pros
Diversity of career options in one firm
Cons
Bureaucracy can be an issue if you are not adept at navigating silos
Pros
Financial backing for our CapEx needs, Diverse and challening group to work with
Cons
Round after round of rif's made it distracting, glacial pace of change
Pros
Opportunities to learn and work with some talented individuals. When times were good, pay raises and bonuses were awarded annually. A decent 401k plan.
Cons
Department managers did not always reward performance. There was no such thing as a "safe" environment to express your disagreements or concerns with their management style or any issues you had with how the department was run. Managers used company layoffs as a means of weeding out anyone who didn't share their views.
Advice to Senior Management
The VOE is not a safe tool for employees to express their true feelings without fear of reprisal, and effective change will never come as a result of it.
