    Pros

Flexible work schedule, including working remote. Competitive compensation and very good vacation and holiday time.

    Cons

The organization structure is very hierarchical with many areas siloed with their own processes to follow. This creates a culture with a lot of bureaucracy that makes it very difficult to get work done and leads to a lot of politics which drains productivity and morale.

    Advice to Management

Simplify the organizational structure and reduce the enormous amount of red tape to get anything done.

    Pros

Pay is above comparable companies for same title, 22 days PTO, location (in Boston), work/life balance, colleagues are so helpful and friendly.

    Cons

The 401Kis the worst of any company I have worked for (4% after one year employment, 2%end of year, 3 year vesting period). Their onboarding is horrible, no process at all...it was very frustrating, but the people and the job itself made it manageable, the employee "discounts" are terrible, you can get better discounts searching online.

    Advice to Management

I know you changed the 401K policy, but it really is below average from the industry, especially for the size of the company. Also, better employee discounts, and create an onboarding experience including a couple of swag giveaways that show you are truly welcoming a new employee.

    Pros

    Great people to work with

    Cons

Scheduling is awful, senority means everything and getting out of cs is impossible

    Advice to Management

Be upfront with employees, stay out of the gossip and favoritism is not how you conduct business

    Pros

    Good hours, nice colleague environment.

    Cons

Big company that operates like a company going broke. Stingy pay, severe micromanaging, understaffed branches, high expectations with low to minimal support.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging and get down in the trenches and lead by example to gain the trust and support of your team, they will then work for you without being managed to death.

    Pros

Customers love the Bank. As a recently independent company, a great deal of excitement and energy about the future permeates the Bank. This is a Bank with a growth culture when many banks are shrinking.Strong financial capital ensuring stability.

    Cons

Historical inadequate investment in infrastructure has resulted in very manual and inadequate processes and systems. Data structures are quite weak. Certain Staff processes/capabilities that are standard for this size company are absent.

    Advice to Management

Need major "sustained" investment over 3 to 5 years into technology and process design. Limiting talent locations to RI/Boston is hurting the pool. Learn to use remote workers with specific needed talents more often.

    Pros

The people. I have met some amazing people here who I sometimes hang out with outside of work. The PTO is also very good.

    Cons

Everything. So political that you only get ahead if you are considered IN with management. They also have tendency to hire who they want regardless of capability. Lots of hypocrisy.
