I worked at Citizens Bank full-time

    Pros

Bank is too big to fail

    Cons

Not a solid plan or direction for the bank. Re-orgs are regular and under qualified leaders are hired and then pushed out regularly.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

If you get a good location with positive people you will enjoy your time working there it is a hard job with out that in place

    Cons

Your job is immediately on the line of you do not perform well and meet your goals after 1 quarter. I worked there for 10 years through all the buy outs had a good reputation with customers but one bad quarter and you are in the spotlight or chopping block just be careful. Also don't plan on having a family and want to spend time with them it is looked at as not doing your job if you need time off.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company had an innovative benefits package and followed standard processes. Great Organizational Development team that offered opportunities to employees to learn and grow.

    Cons

Within the HR organization where integrity should be the outmost, if the head of the group didn't agree with something a person in her team suggested, this person would be done! No opportunities nor discussions regarding the issue.

I worked at Citizens Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There aren't any pros for working with Citizens. If I had to choose something it would be that they give pto and insurance.

    Cons

Everything. Citizens bank is a revolving door. Constant change of branch manager, employees and even upper management. In my time there I saw 3 different regional managers in less than 2 years. The compensation is laughable, the commission structure was impossible to obtain unless you reached 250% of your goal. With already extremely aggressive sales goals it was nearly impossible to achieve. Even if you hit the 250% you still only brought home a couple thousand dollars every 4 months. Employees used shady practices to try and reach the goals. Initially they promise you the world, but once you get into the job you see very quickly how awful it is. Extremely high turnover, micromanagement, unethical practices, favoritism, and subpar customer service if your their for a simple teller transaction. You can move up but only if someone higher up likes you or has a personal relationship with you. Branch Managers will lie and scheme their way to make more money while throwing their employees under the bus.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue on what's happening at the branch level from bankers, and tellers. Management is full of liars. Update your mobile app as its down often. Perhaps redefine what you want to offer as a bank because the service is terrible, rates you offer on products is far below what other banks offer and your technology is behind what every other bank is doing.
