    Pros

    Compensation is competitive. There is work/life balance. Executive leadership is sincere about fulfilling the company's mission and leads by example. Good overall benefit package.

    Cons

    Top down communication needs to improve. Significant improvement needs to occur in the area of career development opportunities for the regular employees. Small inner-circle receives advancement opportunities and higher compensation. Many employees left or are leaving as the job market improves.

    Pros

    Many good dedicated employees. Strong desire to achieve a good work-life balance.

    Cons

    Incompetent and arrogant people in positions of authority due to cronyism and personal insecurities. Ethics and morals are sorely missing, despite being allied about extensively.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Replace everyone director and above. You'll loose a couple of good people unfortunately, but it's near impossible to discern the good from the bad in this toxic culture that has been created. Your primary purpose is to be there when a storm comes, not line the pockets of your friends.

    Pros

    Good health benefits with reasonable cost and great vacation and sick time. Unbeatable 401k match with 100% match of the first 8%. Good people to work with and stable company employment. Company has improved since the new CEO Barry Gilway came on board.

    Cons

    Constantly changing areas and teams including a complete turnover of the entire Human Resources area. Extremely rigid ethics and gift policies. No reasonable punishment for ethics violations, if you violate an ethics rule or policy(regardless of the severity), termination of employment has been the only action taken with employees. Unnecessary and constantly changing technical environments, technical complexity far exceeds company requirements, siloed technology teams make collaboration difficult, IT Sr. Management has old school thoughts ideas from the "State Agencies" and has been in their roles too long to effect realistic or positive change to the organization. Trying to constantly do to many projects at one time and then wonder why a number of projects fail or run longer then estimated. Company pay not in line with the market industry, no bonus structure since it part of the state.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop trying to do too many things at one time and the constantly ongoing changes. Focus on manageable chunks of work activities/projects and realistic timelines rather than trying to do everything all at the same time. Too many projects going on at one time while you are trying to move all the IT offices to Jacksonville and doing a staff reorganization is extremely disruptive to the staff and is resulting in significant employee turnover and loss of historical knowledge as well as subject matter expertise.

    The best reasons to work at Citizens is the great benefits they offer and the working environment is good, you are always treated as an adult.

    Benefits, work life balance. Not too many pros for this place.

    Cons

    Pay, Management, Horrible Work Environment. This was easily one of the most corrupt companies I have ever been employed with. I hope the State of Florida starts to seriously investigate the workings of this companies and put people in charge that actually care about the tax payers dollars. The level of back door dealings and executive perks are a joke. The poor management is comical at times. The problem is if Citizens was actually a public traded company I think most of the Executives would be doing time for fraud.

    Good culture - great co-workers who try hard to make the difference
    Benefits, although HR is recommending changes to reduce the attractiveness of the offer

    Cons

    HUGE changes in senior leadership
    Compensation is way behind the market
    No bonuses and very small merit pool, which is eaten up by increased benefit costs to employees

    stop taking away the good things that make Citizens pallatable; lack of decent pay increases and reduced benefits will not attract the calliber of employees you need to make your organization successful.

    Pros

    supportive direct supervisor, good coworkers that were fun and pleasant to work around. Performance reviews created opportunity for raises.

    Cons

    Performance based raises happen every few years, bad team work within some departments and between departments throughout company. Upper management not transparent about forthcoming decisions or reasoning behind those decisions. Favoritism is a common theme.

    Invest in the promising employees you have by allocating money for training and certifications. Encourage an open and collaborative environment.
