Pros
Good technology.
Somewhat flexible work hour.
Free drink/juice/soda/dinners/latte.
Cons
Not very diversified at Santa Clara office, could be groupie sometimes.
Lots of re-org.
Majority of team in different timezone, India.
Advice to Senior Management
Encourage more diversification, more honest and opened communications between employees and manager
Pros
- Energy and vision
- Products
- Brand recognition
- A big company with a start-up mentality
- Great salary
- Products actually work!
- Mark Templeton is the CEO, but if you meet him, he will remember you
Cons
- No room for growth in career.
- Center of the Citrix universe is Santa Clara, CA... in order to get promoted you have to move
- Citrix talks a big game when it comes to "working from anywhere" but the mentality of the Santa Clara crew is... "work from the office" so the work/life balance is a struggle.
- Acquisitions usually result acquired getting the run of the company for a year therefore making longer standing employees bitter and resentful towards the upper management and newly acquired company.
- Company is in its awkward teenage years at the moment and suffering the growing pains of going from a less than 5,000 person company to a company that will grow to 10,000 people.
- They let solid talent walk
Advice to Senior Management
Location should not matter... talent should! There are other tech areas in this country besides the bay area!
Pros
Good work life balance. Growing desire for design based work styles. Potential to be part of cloud computing motion.
Cons
Ft Lauderdale driven career paths. Nepotism within senior level promotion cycles. Abandoned stock options to rank and file employees and have not replaced with another plan (ESPP doesn't count). Executives are all almost first timers in scale of position and have steep learning curve that leads to missteps in the market. Almost zero mentor ship or career path guidance.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a reasonable equity incentive benefit to replace the options. Invest in employees with real mentorship programs.
Pros
Great work.
Brilliant co-workers.
A vibrant culture and fun filled work place.
Very focused and goal driven Top managment.
Cons
In some BUs Favoritism Rules!
This may not be a problem at entry levels but at the higher roles this becomes a big issue.
While performance is recoginized and respected, be prepared to see others not doing it as well grow. Growth differences may be stark due to favoritism.
If you intend to grow to higher postions, be sure to become a favourite. If you are an above average performer, but not a favourite, its time to start looking elsewhere.
Advice to Senior Management
Institute a 360 degree appraisal scheme quickly!
Pros
Competitive Salary and Benefits package with a lot of freebies thrown in to make the employee happy. Overall a great environment when you remove the politics and management.
Cons
Politics run rampant through the halls, and some management don't like being questioned when something isn't going right - especially when they are still wet behind the ears with Citrix.
Advice to Senior Management
More proactive coaching with people managers to ensure that your vision and leadership are filtering down.
Pros
People here are great. Very supportive. They value talent and give you an opportunity to learn new skills. They are patient and will nurture you to your fullest potential.
Cons
On boarding was a bit slow. It takes a very long time to get up to speed and feel like you are really contributing.
Pros
Exciting and fun palce to work with flexabel hours and good pay in a great location. We work hard and play hard.
Cons
We are growing very fast, some times it is easy to get lost in the croud.
Pros
Leading Technology and comfortable in working for employees
Cons
Awareness of the company name in the market, but OK in the IT industry
Pros
1. Great leadership.
2. Lot of opportunities to grow professionally.
Cons
1. No balance between work life and personal life.
2. Average Salaries.
Pros
Great teams to work with
Cons
