Pros
Not posturing too much but pretty focused on solutions
Emphasis on clean design
Eats own dog food - great when dog food works
Cons
Seems to be leaking some talent, not sure how serious
Trajectory forces it into the Microsoft fold to a large extent
Pros
Great work opportunities
Relaxed environment
Innovative programs such as BYOC, teleworking
Great onsite facilities, such as gym, car wash, etc.
Cons
Some departments are very political
Too many org changes without explaining why they were needed
Not always clear how projects are prioritized and funded
Advice to Senior Management
suffocate the politics and focus communication up and down the organization
Pros
Excellent work atmosphere
Good work
Free pickup/drop, food
Cons
Work not very challenging
Too much focus on virtualization
Advice to Senior Management
Dont acquire companies just for the sake of it.
Learn from past blunders like Xen.
You acquire something for an amount which adds one-tenth revenue after 5 years!!!
Pros
Work flexibility
Great pay
Collaboration and teamwork
Smart people
Cons
Location
Sometimes slow decision making
Some silos exist
Sometimes overly polite
Pros
Gym on site
Casual Dress (this could also be con if manager)
No Drug test (also con if manager)
Cons
Low Morale
Makes changes without consulting employee feedback
HR stuck in the middle of manager support to employee
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on customer service rather than reinvent internal business IT applications. Use out of box software instead of rewriting code.
Pros
Work life balance
Technology impressive.
Stock tends to do well
Mark Templeton the CEO has a charitable and good philosophy about life, and how to run a company.
Cons
Headquartered in Florida sort of podunk mentality compared to other software companies I have worked for. People don't get back to you. Sense of urgency is low.
Working in a small remote office in Redmond was not ideal to be absorbed into the culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Lots of turnover for Product Management. Need a good leader there.
There is a lot of though that has been done on the handling of acquisitions, but for remote offices it is still hard to feel like you are part of the company.
Stay on track with the new focus on UI and UX. It is a good thing.
Pros
- Fun and interesting work
- great work environment and nice work-life balance
- Lots of team building events and company retreats
- Well educated, very knowledgeable co-workers
Cons
- team meetings (in my department) were not effective.

Pros
Challenging product portfolio and plenty of oppurtunities for the right person. Provides the right platform for innovators and encourages new ideas.
Cons
Citrix could make improvements on the work life balance front of its staff, if not provide more incentives to compensate the same.
Advice to Senior Management
As the management approves of BYOC(Bring Your Own Computer) they should also promote WFA(Work From Anywhere). I know its the Citrix Marketing slogan but would be encouraging to see the management team implement the same for Citrites.
Pros
Excellent benefits and salary. Very good opportunities for advancement and regular performance reviews. Management trust and respects you and treats you as a professional. Perks range from free beverages/fruit, daily, to causal dress code, and opportunites to work virtually.
Cons
With each promotion comes increased workload and less work/life balance. Like many large companies, pace can be grueling. Some employees clearly receive preferential treatment. From a marketing standpoint, content can be dry. Diverse opinions, which often prevents management from making decisions efficiently. Some departments' project management needs improvement. However, overall Citrix is an excellent place to work.
Pros
Facilities, work life balance, middle of the city
Cons
no learning for my job role............in the other departments i think most people like it
