Pros
Work life balance
Technology impressive.
Stock tends to do well
Mark Templeton the CEO has a charitable and good philosophy about life, and how to run a company.
Cons
Headquartered in Florida sort of podunk mentality compared to other software companies I have worked for. People don't get back to you. Sense of urgency is low.
Working in a small remote office in Redmond was not ideal to be absorbed into the culture.
Advice to Senior Management
Lots of turnover for Product Management. Need a good leader there.
There is a lot of though that has been done on the handling of acquisitions, but for remote offices it is still hard to feel like you are part of the company.
Stay on track with the new focus on UI and UX. It is a good thing.
Pros
Citrix has a terrific product set which is easy to be passionate about. the company has been good at setting a Mission (lead in applications virtualization) Vision ($1B+ company), Strategy (grow through entering ancillary markets through acquisitions).
Cons
Away from power centers (Santa Clara and Ft. Lauderdale), there are very limited career growth opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Force newer management teams to pay attention to the culture and employee development.
Pros
Seemingly good reputation from the outside looking in.
Cons
Highly political. Senior management has poor communication. Getting closer to competing directly with Microsoft and it is unclear how Citrix will adapt and maneuver.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop playing golf.
