I worked at Citrix Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Citrix is an interesting company with a lot of lines of business, ranging from enterprise to software as a service. They treat employees relatively well, with nice amenities, decent benefits, and a good bit of schedule flexibility.

    Cons

A lot of innovation at the company comes from acquiring other smaller companies. It is very rare that an internal team can build something significant new and ship it. They do a decent job of keeping the lights on for the products they acquire.

    Advice to Management

Take some risks and send some small teams off to try new things. You have to break some eggs to make an omelette!

I worked at Citrix Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company atmosphere. There is definitely a work hard/play hard mentality. If you're willing to put in the work there is money to be made and advancement opportunity.

    Cons

Expectation is 150 calls per day, no excuses. The job is a grind, it is entry level and everything is a numbers game. Support can be lacking and is completely dependent on your manager. Work hours are essentially 9-5 but the expectation is that you have no work life balance, i.e. stay until the job's done.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push training and employee development, it will keep the good ones.

I worked at Citrix Systems as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Citrix believes in providing people with everything needed to succeed. Great company culture. Clear company mission. Outstanding collaborative team environment. Great working environment. Nice people to work with and for

    Cons

I literally can't think of many other than being disappointed that I couldn't continue working for Citrix on a full time basis after my contract expired.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to hiring successful contractors.

I worked at Citrix Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can make quite a bit of money, the company tries to promote a casual work environment with pool tables/ping pong tables, no dress code.

    Cons

You are cold calling people who have been called, sometimes, hundreds of times before to try and sell a cloud storage solution that they have absolutely no need for. Most of the management team was promoted up from when they brought ShareFile into the Citrix brand and those people have, for the most part, no business being managers. You will have for high school swim coaches as a manager above you trying to encourage you to give 110% with rhetoric that they havent bothered to change since cheering their swimmers on to beat their rival school.

    Advice to Management

Reallocate the managers who have no managerial experience into roles better suited to their skill set, increase the rate and reliability of promises made to current employees about transferring them from the sales team to a team that they are better suited to, continue to be honest to your lead generation team about how low of quality the lists you expect them to call 100+ times a day are.

    Pros

Opportunity to move up quickly is definitely there. Ability to make fast cash as well. Some of the perks are cool.

    Cons

Work/life balance is non existent. Monotonous routine drives many away. But if you can do well here you can do well elsewhere.
