I worked at Citrix Systems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Awesome life-work balance, amazing benefits, great culture, great technology. I loved working at Citrix.

    Cons

Promotion is usually handled via two weeks' notice - it's very hard to get promoted without threatening to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the career path process more transparent to employees.

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This is by far the best company I've worked for

    -Ability to work from home
    -Great culture
-Smart employees working on cutting-edge technology
-Management respects your opinion and is open to new ideas

    Cons

Have to really 'fight' for promotions. If you don't push it, it won't happen. The process can take 6 months to a year to come to fruition, so start marketing yourself early!

Infrastructure has been slow to catch up with the rate of company growth. On the bright side, this has been recognized by management and in a few years we'll be a well oiled machine!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

VP's across the organization should share the same Citrix vision. A few departments management ideology doesn't fit the overall vision and can stall or de-rail daily operations and projects.

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Incredible Product Roadmap and a continued investment in technology and leading edge incubators
Strong values exhibited by leadership -- especially Mark Templeton, Chris Hylen and Sudhakar Ramakrishna.
Smart, funny, transparent and dedicated colleagues -- throughout the organization
Truly embraces their solution set -- I can work from anywhere
$3B company that is relatively flat -- lots of room for new ideas, growth and development

    Cons

Needs to invest in internal systems and processes.
There is currently too much review and approval needed for every day decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to the voices of the new leadership. As we grow, the some of the legacy leadership styles will need to change and develop.

I worked at Citrix Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great products, lots of great people but If you're not in Santa Barbara, you're not really in the club.

    Cons

    No clear direction.
    In-motivated employees.
    Terrible comp plans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix sales comp plans, get a real channel program, stop the buying spree and take care of the products that you have. Reconsider being in the audio business.

    Pros

Opportunity is abundant for those who are willing to put on the hours and play by the somewhat vague rules.

    Cons

Some very inept legacy people. Was hoping that would change sooner rather than later.

    Pros

The pay is ok and the atmosphere is fun and unique.

    Cons

Half of the job you can control and the other half is mostly luck. You have some training but it's after your shift. By day two, you're fully immersed into your role. The hiring process is long and it takes only two months to lose employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more training and care about your people.
