I have been working at Citrix Systems as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

A truly innovative compnay that makes it possible to balance work and life. A business minded and design driven company that is leading change and inpiring others. Citrix has a warm and collaborative culture designed for employess to achieve above and beyond their full potential.

    Cons

The uncertainty one can feel at times about becoming a permanent employee after contracting for over a year is a bit unsettling at times. A contractor position is a great way to get your foot in the door at this amazing company yet waiting to become permanent can take longer than expected.

    Pros

Good culture and morale, upbeat business model, enthusiasm and motivation.

    Cons

Big company, sometimes change comes slowly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to keep morale and excitement in mind while growing the company. You are at the size where sometimes the corporate mentality takes over the human factor. Keep it right!

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time

    Pros

It *used* to be flexibility to work remotely, decent benefits. There are pockets of brilliance within the company (ShareFile, for example, J. Lipson is great) but even those pockets of a good culture are being eroded away. Great respect for M. Templeton as CEO, I find him inspiring, but facilitating of bad behavior in senior leaders.

    Cons

There are divisions within the company. Rather than operating as one business unit, it operates as many "mini" companies, each with it's own silo'ed goals and culture. The SaaS division is a complete mess, and can't seem to get themselves organized around anything. Forget using data to persuade decision making, it's all about insider relationships and squeaky wheels. The overall company culture behind humility, integrity and respect is great in theory, but spend time with the SaaS leadership and you'll find that that's only when they are public facing.

Despite being a company that empowers people to "work and live their own way" there is an increased push to bring employees back into the same office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the talent you have shine, put the right people in the right jobs. Stop the old boy club and stand up for the humility, integrity and respect mantra, don't let it be idle chit chat.

    Pros

Great Benefits, Citrix is a great company to work for...

    Cons

I worked for ShareFile, they do not share the same principals as Citrix, they start everyone as a appointment setter and they will fire you or highly encourage you to resign if the sales people do not convert your appointments into sales, they have a very high turnover rate. During my time there 4 months over 15 people had been let go and not one person advanced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

adopt the Citrix way of doing things.

    Pros

CEO is a great leader who has a passion of Citrix. Good marketing and market leadership. Citrix understands that they need to branch out beyond their core competency and taking steps to do so but not fast enough. The next few years will determine if they can stay independent or get acquired.

    Cons

Extremity arrogant front line management who place their own goals first and don't back their people. Sales management is more interested in letting issues play themselves out vs taking action, too focused on "managing up." They don't lead by example.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

make sure your managers are doing more than just collecting a forecast,

    Pros

Broad product tech catalog.Wide range of products from their VDI to Networking to GoToMeeting. Lots of diversity in the company.

    Cons

They grow by acquisition so there are lots of different cultures being mixed into one culture. The initial Citrix from Fort Lauderdale seems to be a great place in a low-tech community in Florida but haven't made the jump into Silicon Valley that well.

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The People and the product were great at Citrix. Mark Templeton's vision is alive and well within Citrix, and it should remain there. Although some of the leadership has moved on, the company will be OK in the future.

    Cons

Senior Sales Leadership has no experience in Sales, and a good number of regional VPs have never carried a bag. Not to say someone has to have been a salesman to be a good sales leader, but there should be some experience at the senior level that has in fact been a quota carrying salesperson. As a result, multiple missteps have been made in the last several years, which have cumulatively really hurt the company.

Sales is also an old boys club, if you weren't a part of the consulting acquisition several years ago, you will have a much more difficult time climbing the corporate sales ladder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is time for change in sales leadership. Bring in, or promote someone who
