    Pros

Fantastic Benefits, Excellent flexibility, wonderful and friendly people. Not a bad place to work at all! Citrix really values having their employees grow and create new opportunities for their career within Citrix, something I really appreciate.

    Cons

The building in SF is not the best. There are no windows so it's like you're stuck in a cave with no ventilation.

    Advice to Management

More and better food. We're a tech company! We should have good food!

    Pros

You can work from home any time and there are really smart people that work here.

    Cons

Because a lot of people work from home the office culture is poor. There have been 2 massive layoffs in the last 2 years. People are jumping ship left and right because they are either 1) scared that they will be fired next or 2) sick of doing the work of 2 people because there is so much turnover.

    Advice to Management

Get your goals straight. Hold people accountable. Care about your employees and have an ounce of loyalty.

    Cons

    - Hard to get promoted
    - Lot of the projects dont add any value to the company

    - Pay is less than comparable companies

    Advice to Management

    - Focus on core products

    Pros

You'll never be bored. Great people who are smart & passionate about helping people work better. Very transparent, data driven culture.

    Cons

The only constant is change - constant reorgs. Newer management wants people in the offices resulting in too much travel.

    Advice to Management

Where did all of the fun go???

    Pros

Very diverse group of people. Smart, fun, eager to network and collaborate.
Flexible WFH (work from home) policy; great for parents or people with medical needs.
    Laid-back vibe.
    Great mentors available.

    Cons

Death by PPT. Meeting-heavy culture, especially if leadership is based in FL (HQ). Different groups don't collaborate like they should, let alone share their findings. Too much red tape and politics.

    Advice to Management

Start setting up informal collaboration sessions a la Toastmasters. Get people to collaborate on Citrix and non-Citrix ideas. The point should be to break everyone out of their shell.

Institute a meeting "budget" based on employee S-level. If lower tier employee, total of 4 hours per week. This forces management to be more judicious with scheduling meetings.

Always have someone take notes or meeting isn't valid. Should be mandatory. Always have meeting agenda sent with invite.

Number one: you need 360 degree feedback. Employee should be able to review her manager and report to senior leadership, even the org VP/SVP, in performance reviews.

One component of MBO should be "Alleviate a common frustration of your team." The manager should strive to hit this MBO every quarter.

Managers should not be managing projects for the first 12 months or 4 COMPLETED (not aborted) projects; use dedicated PMs or assign individuals as PM leads to build PM skills.

    Pros

Good compensation, empowered to do ones job, not a lot of micro-managing, flexible schedule (depending on department and manager - not all employees have the same set up which I thought was interesting for a company who prides themselves on mobile workstyles).

    Cons

WEIRD WEIRD culture. No one talks to each other in the office (which is dark and depressing with no windows). Get togethers are forced and awkward. Not a lot of team players - only interested in advancing ones career

    Pros

It is a great place to manage your work life balance. The company culture is flexible for remote working.

    Cons

Not the best paying company in Silicon Valley. The compensation is not so good.

    Pros

There's a great work-life balance here. With the flexibility afforded the software engineers, it's not difficult to stay motivated and productive. They let the talent shine, which I like. Supportive management team that understands how to manage time, which is rare. Pay and benefits are fair, and the company looks to be headed in the right direction.

    Cons

The one area where this fast company is slow seems to be promotions. I'm happy in my current position, but I'm not sure about opportunities for growth.

    Advice to Management

The decision-makers are fair, but perhaps a little too thorough. It takes a while for changes to occur here. However, the company is doing a lot of things right and I enjoy working here greatly, so there's something to be said for going through a process that works.
