    Pros

I have been working at Citrix Systems (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Led the industry for years with a very people-first message for how technology can benefit employees. Loyal customer base loves the core products.

    Cons

Huge changes in leadership make understanding priorities very challenging. Elliott is having significant impact on operations and questions abound about company's future.

    Advice to Management

Shed the non-core products, focus on where growth areas and employee retention. Silicon Valley presence needs a real shot in the arm as its difficult to retain talent amongst other tech companies

I have been working at Citrix Systems as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Citrix has a 25-year culture that treats people with respect, values innovation and dares to try new things. They look for trends and try to get in front of them, not always successfully.

    Cons

Based in Florida, Citrix lacks the drive and focus found in Silicon Valley. When reading reviews, be aware that in Ft. Lauderdale, Citrix is the best game in town. In Santa Clara, San Francisco and elsewhere, it lags in benefits, competitivness and purpose. Innovation for its own sake is not a business model likely to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Stop inventing cool technology then looking for customers. Focus on where you want to go, not where you were in 2005, and start working directly with customers to find the right path.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Pay is competitive, BYOD, final day of work.

    Cons

This has been by far the worst employer I have ever worked for in the 15+ years in Sales. I was hired last year by a great team and inherited a micro-manager after the restructuring. He was by far the most inexperienced, rude, and fear mongering manager I have ever worked with. Lack of any communication skills and made everyday a painful experience. I could not wait to leave. Avoid working here and save your career. Products are mediocre. VMware owns space on the virtualization side . F5 will continue to dominate ADC. Micro managers; middle management lacks any motivation and adds zero value. Employees gossip and there is no loyalty between peers. People don't like their jobs and top performers carry all the weight. Product is unreliable and works half the time. SE culture is poor and are disconnected with the sales teams. Very little to no on-boarding or training. Company is disorganized on a sales operations level. Florida inside sales is remote and lacks training.

    Advice to Management

Create a culture that is attractive. Have an onboarding program that starts on day 1. Update your sales leadership team and replace managers that don't inspire. Move your operations out of Florida and have Silicon valley teach a thing or two about creating a better place to work. Florida is not cutting it and you'll continue to lose deals and quality talent. I could not wait to leave this company and wouldn't wish even my enemies a job at Citrix Systems.

I have been working at Citrix Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company is always on the cutting edge of technology, and is 1st or 2nd in the majority of it's product's respective markets. Good people, good benefits, and good work-life balance. Mark Templeton has signed on to continue as CEO. He is great leader who is visionary, yet founded in principles.

    Cons

The company has missed a couple quarters recently and seems to be hitting growing pains. Not a lot of 3M+ software companies out there to model after. Bringing in outside hires seems to be the strategy at the risk of losing the culture that made the company great.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on promoting from within and rewarding longevity in the company. Outside leadership is valuable, but affects the culture, and they have less skin in the game long term.
