I have been working at City College of New York full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The ability to attend school practically free of charge.

    Cons

The salary should be a major focus instead of and after thought,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Every job here should be re-evaluated and adjusted according to the workload. There should be more classes teaching the latest technology in order to do job more efficiently.

I have been working at City College of New York part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Professional and diverse
Students are willing to learn, compared to some other colleges around NY. Therefore teaching there is a bit more pleasant.
As an adjunct I would say that salary is ok, if you are a graduate student.
No one bothers you about the way you teach or grade your students.

    Cons

You are never sure of what, or even if, you are teaching next semester.
Sometimes it seems that the school system is set up so that student's needs come last, when they should come first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

College should be a place where learning and personal growth are PRIORITY. There are many unnecessary courses that students must take and many unnecessary things students must do in order to get the education they need. If I could advise the management I would just say: "Keep your students interest a priority"
