    Pros

CES is a fantastic company to work for! They are extremely fair in the way they treat you, and in that respect you have the ability to grow as the business grows. The best part about working for CES is seeing your efforts show a positive influence in the company.

    Cons

With such a busy day-to-day schedule the only downside would be the lack of ability to reflect on projects.

    Pros

Excellent company to work for, your future in the company really depends on you, if you work hard you get far, if you work for the company then company works for you. Also coworkers become like family. The company is young and has a lot of road to cover, but it is enthusiastic about it, and forward is the only way to go.!

    Cons

Professionalism is not at its highest when dealing with internal branch to branch communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

overall company communications could be improved.

I have been working at City Electric Supply full-time

    Pros

I feel lucky to have had this job just fall into my lap. I enjoy coming in every day. It's very much a start-up feel, coworkers get along and work well together. Very team-oriented. The health, vision and dental insurance, plus 401k, make it even better

    Cons

Even though the branches act as individual limbs to a larger body, they still need to work together and communicate in order to progress and grow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are only as successful as you allow your team to be.

    Pros

    flexible hours, local sales territory

    Cons

no training, they never cared who they hired. Regardless of background.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your group managers are the problem. There needs to be 2 per group. There needs to be some personable time given to each branch to train

I worked at City Electric Supply full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Flexible hours for a sales rep. Nice, helpful in store sales help. Base salary is good if you negotiate well.

    Cons

Impossible to make commission if your base salary is higher than their average. No incentive to sale above your base $. You have to pay your car and fuel expenses back before you get any commission.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your branch managers. They will lie and cheat to make a dollar. . I was told by my manager that "at the end of the day, I only worry about myself"

    Former Employee - Stores Manager

I worked at City Electric Supply full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

As a stores manager (assistant manager to branch manager, I learned about the business of supplying the electrical parts needs of electricians. The branch manager was a friend who asked me to join him in the business. We enjoyed a good partnership. The home office was always helpful when issues arose.

    Cons

I found it difficult to balance serving customers and maintaining the business responsibilities. A typical work week included approximately 50 hours to complete. The company sold components of their own brand which were, in some cases, of poor quality. Compensation was on the lower side of similar jobs in our area with no provision for overtime pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees are a serious component to your success. Career opportunities and trade/business training should be a regular occurrence. Consider college graduates in management positions who may also have experience in the electrical trade.
