    Pros

    - Some good people - straightforward and hard-working - Good benefits - Opportunities to get involved in cross department projects

    Cons

    - Disjointed particularly globally - poor mishmash of systems and technology - No career progression

    Advice to Management

What is the strategy? Mission statement? Change is good but only works if ALL snr managers (inc overseas offices) are on the same page.

    Pros

Interesting work and projects. Relatively relaxed atmosphere. Good work life balance - *not* a long hours be seen at your desk type atmosphere.

    Cons

Progression only for brown nosers - if you excel at your job but don't brown nose then you are bypassed. Middle management form cliques with their "favourites". Parochialism and nepotism abound.

    Advice to Management

Dump the middle management layer. Reward your superior performing employees. Strongly discourage brown nosing as the only way to progress. Be open to new ideas and suggestions for improving and expanding the company.

    Pros

Fun, challenging environment, with varied day-to-day work. Verbal recognition of good performance (see cons for other forms of recognition) Surrounded by many good, hard working colleagues

    Cons

Lack of financial (or otherwise) recognition for good performance Too quick to remove good staff for minor infringements (management don't see the bigger picture) "Cliquey" - a feeling that you have to be "one of the lads" to progress Politics Bureaucracy.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff and your staff will look after you...
