    Pros

Fair compensation. Great benefits like profit sharing and tuition reimbursement. More good people than bad. Flexible schedule. As a whole, the company strives to provide value to its employees, clients and shareholders.

    Cons

While the company strives to provide value to its employees, clients and shareholders, it misses the mark on occasion. For example, everyone has to pay for parking, which was instituted during the recession. The good news was there wasn't massive layoffs within the company during the recession and in some of those years, staffing levels even grew. Promotions are rare. Bad apples somehow manage to keep their jobs, and some are even promoted. Hostility is tolerated from those considered to be producers or valuable assets.

    Advice to Management

Executives need to increase their visibility. Middle Managers and Operations Managers need to communicate better with lower-level staff that actually do the work, and solicit their opinions about issues and potential solutions. Communicating also includes listening. Address the bad apples and hostile colleagues, through coaching or termination. Take measurable action. Celebrate successes with more frequency.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Everyone was very supportive and genuinely cared about providing me with a great internship experience.

    Cons

At the time the NY office really depended on experienced professionals from other banks who had developed strong relationships with clients. I did not see an opportunity for an undergraduate student and at the time they didn't have a position for an entry level employee. Also, no training program.

    Pros

Solid bank, good training-The bank is a class act. The company has good benefits, 401K, profit sharing and medical, dental and vision benefits.

    Cons

Very challenging to get credits approved- the bank is a difficult place to work-many silos in the organization, and not necessarily a team environment. Within certain divisions of the bank there is very limited opportunity for growth.

    Advice to Management

Foster more of a team atmosphere. Reevaluate the credit process. Cut out the bureaucracy within the loan center. The different divisions need to work better together.

    Pros

Great incentive plan if you can hit your numbers

    Cons

Goals have doubled this year, Will take a miracle to hit your goals in order to qualify for a payout.

    Advice to Management

Be more realistic with goals. Regional manager is awful to work for.

    Pros

Good, friendly, supportive colleagues generally; pressure can be high but is manageable depending on your attitude to work. Opportunities to move around and learn different areas of the bank. It must be a good place if people leave and almost always inevitably return! There were many such returnees, it's like a home for many.

    Cons

The only con in my experience is that some in management practice extreme favoritism which leads to deadly , sometimes devastating office politics; managers treating departments as their personal domain. Causes low morale.

    Advice to Management

Give credit where due and review middle management tier. Needs a breath of fresh air.

    Pros

Bank for the celebrities. They are located in city where entertainment is big. Looking to expand more branches with leads to more opportunities.

    Cons

Company has been going through lots of changes. They will relocate you without your consent or even feelings. The company only looks out for.their own best interest.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better.

Good place to work, challenging, with reasonable work-life balance and career growth opportunities.

    Pros

Willing to offer good pay for strong experience and skill set. High level of training support. Decent work-life balance with reasonable hours and typical workload for industry. Management interested in supporting career growth and those with ambition and energy.

    Cons

Industry and company are subject to high level of changing demands and pressure on staffing which creates some stress and some dissatisfaction. Challenge is to maintain motivation and enthusiasm of staff, if in management.

    Advice to Management

Management should do it's best to retain compassion for colleagues in this fast changing environment and monitor stress levels for those effected most by changes in job expectations and demands. Losing long time colleagues does not always guarantee replacement with more highly competent new-hires.

    Pros

The opportunity to meet some of the best clients out there.

    Cons

Compensation was horrible, and the yearly raises are not enough to make a dent in your bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Consider ALL employees equal at all times.
