Not really sure how to sum it all up, mixed feelings about it all.

I have been working at City Water Light and Power

    Pros

They have good benefits, great salaries compared to most jobs in Springfield and the the jobs are secured because it is a municipality and there is no competition as far as water and power service go.

    Cons

People are treated unfairly and not given the credit they deserve. People are allowed to disrespect each other and customers with little consequences. A majority of the jobs posted are already promised to someone before it is even posted, so getting on at the city is extremely hard if you don't know anyone. Movement within the city is also hard if you do not know anyone. There is one lady that the companied paid to complete her bachlors degree and she is still in the same place 7 years later.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give credit to those that work hard and take the complaints seriously and don't ignore the problems, especially when brought forth by several employees.

I worked at City Water Light and Power full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some good people working @ CWLP VMF. These few people are very good at their jobs, and strive to do their level best.

    Cons

The current management of CWLP VMF leaves a great deal to be desired. If the citizens of Springfield knew how inept and wastefull CWLP has been the past 9 years they would burn it down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The city needs to continue with their consolidation of all of the garages. This is a smart move to do this and fire the current Superintendant of The CWLP Garage.
