    Pros

Salary was very nice for an internship. The employees where also very down to earth and very helpful, very understanding people. If someone had a birthday or the like there was always a get together of the department for a short while with food and drinks and the like.

    Cons

The management was a bit too formal sometimes and gave a feeling that you can't act like yourself. This could be wrong but this is how I felt during my time there.

    Pros

pay is good, vacation entitlement is good, internal training is good and has a variety of courses

    Cons

management is terrible above supervisor level. everyone is not treated equal, the AMP program does not take into affect aging employees with medical conditions

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The salary perks and general working atmosphere were fantastic. This was definitely a team by team experience. However, most of the team leads were really great with only a few cowboys

    Cons

The overly structured slow moving nature of the business. Very little changed without extensive deliberation so being on the leading edge for any technology was unlikely.

    Advice to Management

Try to route out the few lifers who are clearly just marking time waiting for their pension to kick in

    Pros

Great people, flexible work hours, opportunity for advancement

    Cons

Too many meetings, too many processes, too many politics

    Advice to Management

Not all issues can or should be fixed through process - too many processes kills productivity and efficiency

    Pros

Good if you are desperate for money and if you do not care about moving up.

    Cons

Nepotism, Racism, Got yelled at in front of all my co-workers. Education plays little in getting the job. Depends on who you know and who you suck up to. Employers do not like to change and are barely accessible to deal with supervising issues.

    Advice to Management

Be more available to deal with situations

    Pros

Overall, the City of Brampton is an ok place to work; having come from the private sector, the work life balance is a great change of pace. My co-workers are very friendly and kind.

    Cons

The pace of work is extremely slow; decisions take forever to get made which can get very frustrating. A process that takes a few days/weeks in the private sectors takes months at this organization.

    Advice to Management

Streamline and automate processes; reduce inefficiencies where possible. Look past the historical way of doing things and embrace new ideas, technologies and approaches.
