I have been working at City of Houston full-time

    Pros

The city offers great job security, good benefits, health, dental, eyes, decent money, plenty of options, and avenues for employment

    Cons

They move slow with EVERYTHING, and it's not about what you know but rather who you know

    Advice to Management

Offer more opportunity for advancement, and update probation policy, having to b on probation a year is long, and another 6months if u switch jobs is ridiculous

I have been working at City of Houston full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good but not what they used to be. Most Supervisors are very flexible as far schedules and using sick and vacation time.

    Cons

Difficult to get promotions. Not much incentive to improve work performance.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent. Make it easier for employees to get promoted. Don't demand more than youre willing to give.
