    Pros

    As an intern the staff went out of their way to expose me to many aspects of city government and provide opportunities for resume enrichment.

    Cons

    Sadly it is unpaid. Depending on the department you're in parking can be a nightmare. Experiences will vary depending on department.

    No actionable plan to increase client participation
    No marketing/advertising so they allow for walk-ins everyday therefore just targeting low hanging fruit.

    Pros

    Houston Police Department is quite diverse and offers great job variety for each officer to specialize in area of interest.

    Cons

    Seniority is important for first 5 years. Must work shift work and unlikely to have weekends off. Patrol can be dangerous but also exciting.

    Recognize and support officer and sergeant level personnel. They perform the daily duties of the organization.
