I worked at City of Long Beach full-time

    Pros

The City of Long Beach offers great benefits, live/work balance is ideal, tons of restaurants within walking distance of City Hall, and local residential housing is abundant.

    Cons

The "old boys club" mentality is alive and well in the upper ranks. Regrettably, there are a lot of "big fish in a small pond" male egos to navigate and overcome.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to create more gender neutrality in the work environment
