Nobody in lower management up to the Mayor cares about regular employees

    911 Dispatcher (Current Employee)

ProsIf you are able to stick it out for 10 years, you get a lot of vacation time. 11 recognized holidays, if you're lucky enough to be in a position to have them off.

Consunderpaid, under-appreciated, overworked, poor management. Mayor's office and senior management don't care about compensating employees properly. They don't care about fairness.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

It's been a great ride thus far. I have never worked where there are so many clicks.

    Public Works (Current Employee)
    Tulsa, OK

ProsThis is the first city where i've lived and you are charged to come and leave the city. Anywho,,Tulsa is centrally located and you can get away and travel to another State.

ConsThe company is the Good Old Boy network. Everyone is related to someone. It's hard to trust the people you work for or with.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't show favoritism towards your friend.

Wouldn't mind going back to work there!

    Planner II (Former Employee)
    Tulsa, OK

ProsGreat retirement and opportunity for advancement. Many good people within organization.

ConsBenefits for family are expensive. Complacent employees were frustrating to deal with, but luckily there were also forward-thinking, hardworking people like me. Bureaucracy is often tough to deal with.
