I worked at City of Tulsa (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of room for advancement and worked with companies outside of the city. It was a great learning experience.

    Cons

Overtime is available and sometimes required working in the middle of the night. A lot of layers to management.

I have been working at City of Tulsa full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

None, No work life balance to pay bills or have any type of life you have to work all the time. The leadership is a joke as are company values.

    Cons

They work you give you a list of pays, don't always let you do training, don't raise the pay when they are supposed and now before I quit they started talking about docking pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a reason why your under employed in this economy. Raise pay when promised and don't consistently lie and stonewall your employees.

I have been working at City of Tulsa full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

If you are able to stick it out for 10 years, you get a lot of vacation time. 11 recognized holidays, if you're lucky enough to be in a position to have them off.

    Cons

underpaid, under-appreciated, overworked, poor management. Mayor's office and senior management don't care about compensating employees properly. They don't care about fairness.

I have been working at City of Tulsa full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

This is the first city where i've lived and you are charged to come and leave the city. Anywho,,Tulsa is centrally located and you can get away and travel to another State.

    Cons

The company is the Good Old Boy network. Everyone is related to someone. It's hard to trust the people you work for or with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't show favoritism towards your friend.

I worked at City of Tulsa full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great retirement and opportunity for advancement. Many good people within organization.

    Cons

Benefits for family are expensive. Complacent employees were frustrating to deal with, but luckily there were also forward-thinking, hardworking people like me. Bureaucracy is often tough to deal with.
