    Vaughan is good if you don't mind milking resident $.

    ProsGood salaries, coworkers and location. The people, in particular, the worker bees across the many departments are great and there is lots of training potential. Projects are diverse in scope and nature.

    ConsThe 2010 era management team, especially in information technology and business solutions are so hobbled in back room politics that the rule for advancement is to have little integrity and to keep quiet.

    As a systems analyst/project lead they just tell you what you want to hear to keep you quiet and avoid confrontation but will act in their own best interests. Most workers under these managers are so afraid of losing their seniority/company pensions that they just keep things quiet and suck it up. They are not happy.

    Some people who direct aspects of the ITM dept add no discernable value and the employees just marvel/wonder at how such positions were borne and maintained. They don't attend meetings, write documents or seem to do anything at all!

    Advice to Senior ManagementThis is tough as the council is mired in lawsuits and controversy.
    I'm not sure how to avoid the problems up high from trickling on down.

    Perhaps the only advise that could help is to learn that ITM is not your personal fiefdom and that we, the employees, take pride in, and want to own successful projects. Meritocracy should prevail and thats not happening as you run the ship in order to protect your own political ambitions rather than to ensure quality service for constituents and a quality workplace for workers. Also, learn to use market research and listen to resident needs instead of just picking features which suit your own political interests.
