I worked at Civco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are no pros to this organization

    Cons

All of senior management is incompetent, the CEO in particular is a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep pulling the wool over Roper's eyes. If they ever figure out just how clueless you are you'll be out of a job.

I worked at Civco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Average pay and benefits. Could be a fabulous company to work for if it had an engaged senior management team at the helm.

    Cons

Great divide between management and hourly workers. A striking example of the 'haves' and the 'have nots'. Efforts to engage the hourly workers are bogus and superficial. Work is not challenging and workers are not developed except for a few hand picked individuals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs a wake up call to get real. The senior management team needs to be changed out and an infusion of new energy and ideas needs to occur for the company to grow.

Former Employee - Cleanroom Associate in Kalona, IA

I worked at Civco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good Benefits - PTO, Vision, dental, healthcare
    Clean working environment

    Cons

    * Not much room to advance - you'll have to hope someone dies first!
    * Training of new employees began to slack due to high turnover so protocols were not being followed all the time
    * One day you're told one thing, the next another
    * Gossipy environment
    * Manufacturing rate goals increased as people got better, went from 500 to 1000 per hour.
*Mandatory overtime occasionally -first three months I was there in fact.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees who have been there, making and packaging your product. The engineers may design it, but they don't know what it's like to produce it on a daily basis. Quality is more important than quantity when you're creating a medical product.

I have been working at Civco as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

CIVCO has a very welcoming atmosphere. As it is a small company, you get to be involved in many aspects of the company, as opposed to being pigeon-holed, which can happen in larger corporations. It was a really great experience to have an internship at CIVCO.

    Cons

Locations both in Iowa; not near any major cities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although it may not be possible now, consider opening up locations in the future closer to larger cities
