I have been working at Civic Resource Group full-time

    Pros

    Good work life balance
    Able to work from home
    Consider as a launching point
    Promising technology ideas

    Cons

    No company culture
    Poor resource allocation
    Poor technology implementation
The few people doing the work for many
Over promising to clients and employees
    Disorganized management and vision
Public sector speed gives extra leeway to product and services limitations. These things would not fly elsewhere

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much emphasis on playing the field (investors and business) and not enough time/resources on quality products/services
Don't talk about stock options and equity without plan to implement
    Don't "expand" by hiring interns
    Teams need more technical people

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Civic Resource Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance (work from home allowed).
Opportunity to work with large and impactful clients.

    Cons

Lack of project direction and leadership (often felt lost and helpless).
Constant and distracting talk of stock options, profit sharing etc...
Overselling to clients by management leading to contentious client relationships.
Top heavy organizational structure - lack of actual do-ers.
Retirement benefits not offered to all employees on top of below-industry pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of your employees.
Transparency and honesty, no more buzz words and jargon.

    Pros

    Interesting public sector work.
    Promising technology.

    Cons

    Disorganized.
    Mismanaged.
    No benefits.
Bait and switch: you get hired to do one job, then they change your job and expect you to be an expert on that new job title that you were not hired for.
Management is not centralized, you never really know who you report to or who is evaluating you.
    Gossipy environment.
Arrogant youth are free to dominate.
They lure you in with the promise of stock options, but they never come.
Management will jerk you around like a rag doll, diverting you from your tasks.
Endless meetings will consume large percentage of your time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take note when your employees add value.
See beyond your own limited vision, consider what is best for the company.
If you feel threatened by energetic new blood, you should get out of the way.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
