    Pros

I enjoyed working here. HR was fun to visit and managers are not afraid to dive into the code.

    Cons

inter-personal relationships with among certain employees were strained due to differences in perspective.

I worked at Civica full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The non-managerial staff are mostly great people and a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Lots of bullying and things swept under the carpet. Things are said but not actioned. Few people are given adequate training, you work things out as you go! No surprise they have a high staff turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As Richard Branson says: "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to."

    Pros

the CEO checks that his staff are 'ticked' in every day so at least you know where everybody is. The customers are very good and have a lot of patience for the quality of software that is produced.

    Cons

Civica Australia is slowly but surely grinding itself into the ground. The company needs to overhaul its software and service culture otherwise it won't be relevant in five years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Civica Australia needs a full overhaul starting from the CEO down. He runs 'his' company by fear and doesn't do a very good job even at that. Nasty place to work and culture is abhorrent.

I worked at Civica full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Working on exciting projects. Most people are nice.

    Cons

Clique of people who have been working there since day one make it impossible to progress.
    Terrible pay, ok benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff better and you might not have such a high staff turnover
