I worked at Claraview full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Claraview has an outstanding business model, flexible environment, standard benefits, and management is great for the most part. The people are great, and extremely intelligent. Consultants travel frequently, therefore the offices are small and usually pretty quiet. High level of autonomy, just expected to do your job exceptionally and make yourself available - all the time. Depending on your role, compensation can be outstanding or pretty stagnant. If you're a consulting/BI/Technology professional - this is a great place to learn, earn certifications and grow. The promotion path is very clear for those roles. If you're anything other than that (hr, accounting, marketing, administrative, etc.) you'll likely find it difficult to grow or experience any in house professional development.

    Cons

Challenges vary from role to role, but overall it is demanding work most of the time. There have been some stints of layoffs over the last year, and the parent company is starting to step in a lot more from an organizational and policy perspective.

I have been working at Claraview full-time

    Pros

Claraview is a solid boutique business intelligence firm held in the highest regard by the industry's most respected raters such as Gardner. The company's clients span the nation and the work is across industies, leaving little opportunity for its employees to get bored. There is a rich talent-base on staff, so if you are unable to untangle a problem on your own, it's easy to reach out to colleagues for help. Colleagues, are smart, efficient, fun and kind. Since Claraview is a product agnostic division of Teradata, consultants are able to use many industry tools (not just Teradata's), while having the advantage of being able to leverage Teradata's resources and knowledge base. The company has nice benefits including an Employee Stock Purchase Plan

    Cons

The company intends to provide you mentors to help your professional development, but this duty often gets overlooked. If you want to expand your skills and training, the opportunities are available, but you must seek them on your own. Most folks are on the road a lot, but that's usually the life of a consultant.
